The new site is abyssal. I understand there's a learning curve with new designs but this is beyond bad. It took me several minutes to figure out who assisted on the goals of the scores I was looking for. It's amazing how much they ###### up this release in the middle of the season. I don't understand the rush to release it like that. Why not make sure it's properly built AND tested and then release over the off-season?

Autocorrect makes the most awesome errors.

I wonder where Ladd gets traded. Nashville?

Florida was a hot spot. Dale Tallon obviously having a connection to him from his Chicago days.

I would mention Minnesota but they need legitimate change and not a rental.

Forgot about Flordia, good call. Minnesota needs a full overhaul, especially with their cap issues (or so I hear, haven't checked them myself)

Still, Nashville has said they're not done, and there're plenty of fringe teams that need offense

They showed Price practicing on NHL network. Just him skating upright. He looks maimed. Some very serious LBI going on. He looks out for the year

Yeah they say he looked real frustrated with his recovery and the progress or lack thereof. He's pretty well Hasek like in his importance to that team.

Is Paul Kariya a Hall of Famer? He's probably my favorite player in league history (Mighty Ducks, he and Teemu were one of the most dynamic duos in the league when I first became a fan).

It's an interesting discussion. If concussions hadn't cut his career short I imagine he would've padded his stats even more (he was close to a deal to return to the Ducks but doctors wouldn't clear him to play so he took a year off then retired).

Here's a look at his career stats: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2640

Exactly a PPG at 402-587-989 in 989 games played. Essentially a 1,000 point player. Dynamic player who was one of the most exciting both with Selanne and when he left for Nashville.

Thomas Vanek and Jason Zucker will be healthy scratches for the #mnwild.

Just saw that.  Given what we now know, I wonder if things might not have turned out better long-term had Darcy let Vanek walk to EDM and taken all those draft picks.  Talk about a tank, but the franchise may well be light years ahead by now.

Smh...why am I still reading about this a decade later!!!

Not intending to dig up the grave of the Golisano era and parade those old bones around (even though, in retrospect, that's exactly what I did).

Just struck me in that moment.  For all the grief Pegula gets, he bought a fixer-upper and had it gutted.  Even if he didn't realize that at the outset, it became obvious after the wallpaper covering the gaping holes in the beginning of his ownership didn't do the job.  Maybe the rebuild could have been commenced faster, Vanek is definitely not the centerpiece of a franchise, then or now.

I'll just retire this and/or move it to one of the seventeen more appropriate threads now...

Watching Rangers-Flyers.  Evidently, Wayne Simmonds got a match penalty for knocking out Ryan McDonagh with a bit of a sucker punch.  McDonagh, for his part, gets 4 for slashing/high-sticking.  All of this ignores that McDonagh started it with what looked to be a fairly deliberate corss-check to Simmonds' head.

I really can't figure out how these games are called.

Pegula doesn't get any grief.

Zamboni Driver in Detroit ran over one the the net pegs and it was dragged causing a gash in the center ice from the goal crease to the top of the circle.

The game is delayed for ice repairs
