Samson's Flow Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Brad Boyes on waivers for buyout purposes. First Hodgson and now Boyes?!?
LGR4GM Posted June 30, 2015 Author Report Posted June 30, 2015 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 1m1 minute ago “@CanadiensMTL: #Habs agree to terms on 2 yr contract with Brian Flynn. http://goha.bs/1Iqqfaa #GoHabsGo ” $950K AAV.
shrader Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 If true, that can't make Lombardi happy. Any word on what's heading back the other way? Lombardi can't be too surprised about it though. He had to know Boston would probably send him somewhere else given their current goalie situation. You open the door for Jones to be sent to a close rival when you trade him to a team that doesn't need a goalie.

Hoss Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) Hamilton is nearing a 6-year deal with Calgary. Under $6M... The Bruins make an awesome move in the Jones deal but then we're reminded of this disaster. They really couldn't pay him that? Edited June 30, 2015 by Hoss

The Bruins make an awesome move in the Jones deal but then we're reminded of this disaster. They really couldn't pay him that? My only thought on that trade is they wanted the ammo to move up to get into the top 5 and failed. They still made the worst out of a bad situation with some highly questionable picks.
That Aud Smell Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Hamilton is nearing a 6-year deal with Calgary. Under $6M... The Bruins make an awesome move in the Jones deal but then we're reminded of this disaster. They really couldn't pay him that? They didn't want to pay him that. Because he's an "uppity" kid. No, really. They even leaked that to the media. http://www.hngn.com/articles/104965/20150629/calgary-flames-rumors-dougie-hamilton-dealt-because-he-was-disliked-by-bruins-teammates-hamilton-a-loner-and-uppity-kid.htm

If that's the case Sweeny may really be in line for taking the mantle from Garth Snow two years back; especially as Snow has definitely stepped down from there with last season and his draft moves this year
Brawndo Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 @DarrenDreger: Interesting back story on Martin Jones trade. Calgary was in the mix last night, but backed out. Offer sheet threat encouraged trade...

Doohicksie Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Maybe we should give Boston its own thread: The Dismantling of the Bruins
IKnowPhysics Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Merge it with the boobs thread, and we got a stew goin'.
LTS Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Merge it with the boobs thread, and we got a stew goin'. Why would you ruin a perfectly good thread? Boston is entertaining at least. See kids.. this is how you don't play GM in the NHL.
Hoss Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 Moments after the Saad trade this is moving quick: Bowman said CHI closing in on an extension for Anisimov
Doohicksie Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Drew Stafford, Winnipeg Jets agree to 2-year deal with $4.35M AAV. Good for Drew. I always liked him (have his slug jersey). Due to bad timing, he was cursed to be part of the rotten core of the Sabres. I wish him well with the Jets.
bunomatic Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Did the bruins get a 1st back for Jones ? Chip Alexander @ice_chip 3m3 minutes ago Canes have placed Alex Semin on unconditional waivers for purpose of a buyout. So the Canes will prematurely Semin ?
Huckleberry Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 Yeah the bruins got a first, makes me feel a bit better about the lehner trade :p

LGR4GM Posted July 1, 2015 Author Report Posted July 1, 2015 Not due to bad timing. Due to lack of effort. we should drag up that thread about drew's last contract where we argued his worth and if he was a 30g scorer.
LGR4GM Posted July 1, 2015 Author Report Posted July 1, 2015 Nick Kypreos @RealKyper 3m3 minutes ago #Flames Giordano now eligible to sign #NHL extension. Hearing starting point on max term is 72m over 8 years. Giordano is 31 so if this is accurate that would be insane money and term for his age. However it could free up another defender like TJ Bordie for instance.
Rasmus_ Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 He supposedly asked for 9M. I love Giordano, but god for 9M at 31, that's just gross. It's one thing with a 23-24 year old PK Subban. But, Giordano has an injury history and while he is as important to their future success in the near future as Sean Monahan, his cap hit will limit their ability to resign Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, and possibly guys like Bouma resigned.

This is where I'm at. Huge Gio fan, but that money and term is not a wise investment.
WildCard Posted July 1, 2015 Report Posted July 1, 2015 He was out for a large portion of their playoff Chase late last season, couple that with the addition of Hamilton and Gio is expendable
