Drouin sent to the A.

Man. Makes me grateful for what we're seeing in 55 and 23.

To be honest, Namestnikov has out played him when healthy as well.  He needs to get healthy and consistency.  No one doubts the talent level of Drouin.

This may belong elsewhere (feel free to suggest or, if a mod, move this to a better thread):

The Tampa Bay Lightning don't have to trade Jonathan Drouin, but after the former third-overall pick made it clear that he'd prefer to be shipped to another NHL home, it certainly wouldn't be surprising to see Lightning GM Steve Yzerman flip him for assets or players that would presumably enjoy being a member of the organization going forward. Of course, that assumes that Yzerman will be presented with a trade offer that he views as commensurate to Drouin's value, which at this point, with Drouin still representing unfulfilled potential more than anything, is no small feat.

I momentarily flashed back to Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre.

Dammit. We need an NHL prospect with some crazy French name again.

My sense is GM TM doesn't care for them, though. (Le Quebecois.)

The Ryan Johansen pickup moved Cody Hodgson to the Nashville bench. Calle Jarnkrok who had been at center moved into CoHo's wing spot. :)

BTW - Johansen scored on his first shot as a Pred.

I always wondered who was the better Sabre: Big Stones, or Rumun Ndur?

Grande-Pierre actually had a modicum of talent. He could hit, skate and shoot while being a decent pugilist. Ndur was just the last thing I mentioned.

Kindl (DET) on waivers

Hmmmmmm.... Lefty dman. 28 years old. One year left beyond this season at $2.4M... This is the first appealing waiver of the year for me.

Does he get past Columbus?

If yes, then yes. Adding him and Pysyk would make the 3rd pairing significantly upgraded.

Columbus has about a thousand defensemen, and is on a budget, so maybe he does make it through.

Hell yes. All of his metrics are top 4 D with the exception of TOI and he is a LHD.

Jakub Kindl last four years: on-ice for 58% of the goals in ~ 2400 min. I find it hard to believe he's the drag some fans believe.

That was a sick goal too.  Looked off Varlamov and then put it over his right shoulder.  One of the nicest goals of the year,
