TrueBlueGED Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 WOW. There it is... 45] NHL Blue JacketsVerified account@BlueJacketsNHL #CBJ acquires Seth Jones from the @PredsNHL in exchange for Ryan Johansen. MORE: http://cbj.co/predscbjtrade Love love this for Nashville. Exactly what they had to do. Also like it for Columbus since they got Jones as opposed to the speculated Ekholm, but I still don't think it makes them better, just shifts the roster hole around. Of course if they win the Matthews sweeps...
wjag Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Beagle. Out til maybe the playoffs. Surprised,,, Didn't think it was that bad..
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Torrey Mitchell with a shorty for the Habs against the Devils. The Devils got caught flat-footed and played the resulting break like .
Weave Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Pretty cool Ryan Miller mask for the 'Nucks throwback uni game. Hated those sweaters but this mask looks terrific.
WildCard Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Hawks are absolutely taking it to the Pens. Chicago just plays on another level
Stoner Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Makes sense Did Murray not go? "we like our team"
Marvelo Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 looking at the rest of the Sabres' schedule for January, only 1-2 more wins til Feb might be a distict possibility... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/team/buffalo-sabres/schedule
WildCard Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 It's been mentioned but Montreal has only won 4-16 since Price went out. Ouch

Randall Flagg Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Isn't Weal a good prospect? Why would LA do that?
Rasmus_ Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Isn't Weal a good prospect? Why would LA do that? Mainly because it looks like Matt Greene is not coming back anytime soon. They did it to get a right handed shot defensemen who fits their style. They haven't had much success with Weal, Shore and a couple of other options on the third line. They must view Lecavalier as an upgrade. Not sure why. Lecavalier has already been quoted stating that he will retire at the end of the year. The third for Schenn is about an average return on a pending UFA. Hextall is a great GM. Albeit for the Hartnell for Umberger deal which he did mainly for the amount of years for years.
LGR4GM Posted January 7, 2016 Author Report Posted January 7, 2016 It's been mentioned but Montreal has only won 4-16 since Price went out. Ouch They aren't a good hockey team. They have Paccioretty, Galchenyuk, Plekanec and Subban. The rest of their team is garbage or guys past their primes like Markov. Without Price playing out of his mind they are bubble team. No offense to Plekanec and Glachenyuk but that doesn't scream Cup winning centers.

Iron Crotch Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Seth Jones is young and has a ton of potential, but he was the Preds 5th best defenseman and hasn't been playing well this year (he gets too "cute" with the puck and is a turnover machine). The four guys ahead of him (Shea Weber, Roman Josi, Matty Ekholm, Ryan Ellis) are all signed long term. Seth is still on his rookie contract so he is due for a big pay raise. Good trade both ways. 3 of 4 Preds centers are on the wrong side of 30 (Fisher, Ribero, Goose) and they are injury-prone. With so much strength on the wing it is almost criminal for the Preds not to have a true scoring center. They now have that.
Hoss Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) If anybody cares the new numbers for players who joined new teams: Ryan Johansen - 92 (Jarnkrok has 19; birth year) Seth Jones - 3 Vinny Lecavalier - 44 Luke Schenn - 52 Jordan Weal - 19 Mike Richards - 10 Edited January 7, 2016 by Hoss
LTS Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Lecavalier and L Schenn to L.A. Further details to come. Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger For a 3rd round pick and Weal. There's a certain entertainment value to this. A few years ago the Flyers brought in Brayden from the Kings. Now they are sending his brother back.
WildCard Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 You want to know how absolutely moronic the NHL scheduling was this year? Montreal played thier first home game since December 17th last night. That's 8 consecutive road games.

There's been some sort of Avatar-related Cirque du Soleil thing going on at the Bell Centre for like three weeks. I'm going to assume that was booked first.
Eleven Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 James Mirtle @mirtle 26s 26 seconds ago Trade: Canadiens trade Dustin Tokarski to Anaheim for Max Friberg. All right, that's it. I just started a trade thread.
WildCard Posted January 7, 2016 Report Posted January 7, 2016 Doesn't this happen every year to many teams? Panthers are on an 8 game road trip too, aren't they? Does it? I can't remember us having one that long. If so, that's still moronic, just on an annual basis There's been some sort of Avatar-related Cirque du Soleil thing going on at the Bell Centre for like three weeks. I'm going to assume that was booked first. Avatar, as in the movie? The worst movie ever made, that movie?
