Dreewwwwww Stafford with a goal for the Jets against the Sharks.   He finished a pretty 2-on-1.

...and Staff scores two more against the Preds, both on the power play, both reviewed (offside, high stick), both upheld.  The first was set up by a rushing Tyler Myers.  Maybe the end of the Rotten Core wasn't so rotten after all....

Do you post to the Yotes forum on HFBoards?  You totally should.

I don't / haven't... I have a hard enough time keeping up on the Sabres these days, and sometimes I share my account with my mom so I only watch every so often. But I do enjoy watching them, and like you, I see some parallels with the Sabres. Domi and OEL are fun to watch.

Not everyone there appreciates my contributions.

Buffalo, Buffalo, Buffalo. This is like Buffalo. That is like Buffalo. The other thing is like Buffalo. The color of the laces is like Buffalo.

Enough Buffalo.

My response:

I love you too, Bonsai.

Okay, I'll try to take the Coyotes as they are.

By the way, did you know Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo is a grammatically correct sentence?

good thing they got that cherry buyout on richards........

Speaking of Richards

Sources say pending NHL approval, Mike Richards is expected to join the Washington Capitals. Told Richards has to meet with Bettman. Per Dreger

I don't understand either of these moves for contenders. Give up assets and valuable cap space for guys who can't play? In any event, Ron Hextall continues to look much better as a GM than he did as a goalie.

They're short a C

They don't seem to be. Kuznetsov and Backstrom are a great 1-2 punch, and Johansson seems to be having a very good year for a 3rd line center, better than many of our top 6 in fact

WTF is Lombardi doing?

Lecavelier is rumoured to be retiring after the season, I'm not getting this at all.

edit:

Philadelphia will reportedly retain 50 percent of both Lecavalier's ($4.5 million cap hit) and Schenn's ($3.6 million) contracts. In the short term, this creates $4.05 million of cap space for the Flyers. The other $1.8 million of Schenn's contract will come off the books after this season when the veteran defenseman hits unrestricted free agency. The Flyers would have to retain a $2.25 million cap hit on Lecavalier through the 2017-18 season unless he retires.

Execs coming back from Helsinki after a few weeks of hanging out together.

It's funny, though, because yesterday a few major NHL reporters were tweeting about how quiet it is around the league.
