"Flyers coach Dave Hakstol and general manager Ron Hextall both spoke to him about plays like that"

Uh huh....

Wouldn't be surprised at all that they "spoke to him." Probably went something like "we're very, veeeerry, disappointed in you, if you hit a guy blind like that in the head again, no Herbies for you for a week; get him put on LTIR & it'll be no Herbies for a month, tsk, tsk, tsk. ;), ;), ;), ;) "

Hamilton Tweeted last night, I think, that back in the fall of 2015 Gudas came within a few inches of possibly ending Eichel's season.

The fact that the NHL is just letting this guy act with relative impunity is an absolute joke.

I love hockey. The NHL is an awful steward of the game I love.

That was Gudas who was too slow and stupid to make contact when trying to take out his knee? Figures.

Really hate to be this way, & don't want to see anybody injured, but IF another NHLer has to suffer a career ending injury, hope it turns out to be him. It'll keep a lot of other guys healthy.

Well stated.  I agree.

No hearing for Gudas...

It'll be interesting to find out which NHL exec has skeletons in the closet and is protecting him from DoPS.

Wideman suspension upheld for 20 games.

He sent this to a teammate

Wideman sent text msg to teammate on Feb. 2: "(t)he only problem and the only reason I'm here is cause the stupid refs and stupid media."

He voluntarily gave his phone to the league for their search.

Doesn't seem like the brightest move. Why would the league even need his phone?

I'm assuming it's because they're all giant douchebags.

It is interesting that the NHL could do what the NFL could not. Must owe to the fact that Wideman's situation is an arbitration, not an investigation.

Anyway. It remains utterly shameful that the NHL continues to ignore the reality that Wideman was in feckin' la-la land.

That's right.

Oh but wait, he wasn't concussed because he didn't ask to leave the game. #hurdur

I just like how he skated directly at the ref, pushed off, didn't even look back, then sat down like nothing happened. That and, you know, his text, where he blames it on the ref anyways #he'sjustajackass
