dudacek
Sedin is about as classy and mild-mannered as an NHL player gets. If he chirped the Panthers bench, you can bet it was provoked by something earlier in the game.
SwampD
A crosscheck to the side of the head? It's hard to imagine a worse penalty really. I know his stick was in his hand, but it just looked more like a punch to the head than a crosscheck to the neck, although that doesn't sound as alarming. It was pretty awesome to get an "old school" bench clearing affair after the game. Mostly pushing and shoving, although Luongo reached over the boards from the bench are started whacking guys with his goalie stick. A teammate saw that and took the stick from him. It was amusing. WildCard
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=797328&navid=DL|NHL|home 12 interesting stats for the season so far, including the top offensive contributors on each team (Kane is involved in 50.4%, Hall 40.6%, and a certain defense man 39.1% in their teams total goals), the Ducks and Coyotes reversals in shooting %, teams with the greatest rookie scoring contributions (Chicago apparently has 10 rookies), and why we should trade for Barret Jackman Anze Kopitar finalizing an 8 year deal Edited January 13, 2016 by WildCard
Brawndo
Kopitar is about to get paid Anze Kopitar's 8-year, $80M ($10M AAV) contract with LAK is, finally, in final stages of paperwork. So not officially "done" but very close. Per McKenzie I wonder if Stamkos Deal gets done now that the market has been set.

TrueBlueGED
And the Preds waived Cody Hodgson Maybe he took less so both Kane and he could be re-signed? You're reading me backwards sir. I think Kopitar is Toews' equal, but the contract says he's less valuable. I'm wondering why Kopitar took less than Toews.

Hometown discount? Because Kopitar isn't as good as either of them? WildCard
I think Kopitar is every bit the player Toews is. Well color me surprised. You know what's actually absolutely insane about their stats? They're nearly identical in every category, including possession and playoff ppg Kopitar Toews Edited January 13, 2016 by WildCard

WildCard
Too bad Toews +/- is twice that of Kopitar. That explains it ;) And the Preds waived Cody Hodgson Probably flicked him off is more like it

If Toews is 100 overall Kopitar is 97 or so. Mainly because Toews has 1 more Cup thus far. Oh and Hodgson is on waivers. If the popular idea that he's Toronto bound really is where his head is, the Leafs have nothing to gain by trading for him now. They're not playoff bound, so there's no sense in giving up anything. Does someone else want to bring him on as a rental knowing that they have no shot of keeping him beyond this year? That seems like a tough pill to swallow too.
