Stads Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Which player would you have most wanted to see win a Cup as a Sabre? I'm in my early thirties so the great teams from the 70's don't really resonate with me. I would probably pick Hasek. He was the first player I attached myself to as I started watching hockey. I was in constant awe of his talents and it was definitely bittersweet seeing him win that first Cup in Detroit. Quote
Jeanbe Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Don Luce and Craig Ramsay. I didn't get to watch many of the Sabres games when I left BFLO in 88 so I missed much of the Hasek era, the Drury Briere era, etc., and now that I have Center Ice I can watch. Quote
Doohicksie Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Hasek was a mercenary; he won his Cup. Quote
ubkev Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Ryan Miller. There, I said it. Go ahead, pile on. Quote
WildCard Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Ryan Miller. There, I said it. Go ahead, pile on. Younger fan myself, so if I had to pick one it'd be him. Quote
Weave Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Mike Ramsey. Long, almost anonymous career. Gave all he had. Was close a couple times. Quote

shrader Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Forget players, I'm going with the Knox brothers Quote
Drunkard Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Forget players, I'm going with the Knox brothers If it extends to non- players the one and only choice is Jeanneret. For players I'd go with Hasek, then probably Miller. Quote
SwampD Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 If it extends to non- players the one and only choice is Jeanneret. For players I'd go with Hasek, then probably Miller. If it extends to non- players then I'm going with ME! Quote
pastajoe Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Rick Martin Michael Peca Patrick Kaleta Quote
chileanseabass Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Mike Ramsey. Long, almost anonymous career. Gave all he had. Was close a couple times. Yep, that was my pick. At least he won gold in Lake Placid. Quote
mphs mike Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 Yep, that was my pick. At least he won gold in Lake Placid. Mike Ramsey. Long, almost anonymous career. Gave all he had. Was close a couple times. Second would be Bert with Schoeny third. Obviously, age is showing in this poll Quote

LabattBlue Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 The face of the franchise for the first 17 years of their existence, and arguably the greatest and most popular Sabre of all time...the one and only Gilbert Perreault. /thread Quote
