Trade ideas and speculation

I am unsure of where he currently plays but he is listed as a LW prospect at Hockey Futures.

Yes, he has roughly 33 more games of AHL experience while being 1 full year younger and only have 65 games of NA game experience. Fiala would still be a better prospect. Is he leaps and bounds better, no.  He is better though.  I wouldn't give up a ton to acquire him because I'd rather spend assets on a LHD like Matheson out of Florida.

So he's a LW? I thought we were log-jammed at LW? Unless we trade Ennis for Fiala, we don't have a spot for him as you dictated above. And I want more for Ennis than that. I'd rather trade Ennis for Boedker

I was noting that our Center Depth is very much set. Our LW has Kane and some question marks. I don't want Fiala that much. I simply noted that your suggestion he was struggling in the AHL and putting up Bailey/Baptiste numbers was slightly inaccurate.

A stretch, for sure. I was trying to make a comparison to our own prospects that posters could connect with

hockeydb has him at center:  http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=172722

Ennis kills any deal until het shows he can play again though.

I think there are plenty of teams will to take a chance on him.    Anaheim would be a good fit, maybe a McGinn + Ennis deal for a guy like Theodore or Ritchie.   If ANA can fix their scoring woes, they're a Cup favorite so I expect they'll deal some future assets for immediate help.... that is, assuming they strike out on Drouin.

He is going to have to be a lot better in his own end, that's not just a cooper thing. It would also help him quite a bit to push the attack little more and not dart side to side. Teams play defnse in the NHL and that means backchecking and they catch up to him too much.

He's good enough to learn to adapt if he wants, but it's def not all Cooper's fault he's flailing.

I agree. I wasn't trying to say that he'd light it up as soon as he was away from Cooper, but that his trajectory will normalize.

Hmmmmmmmm...

No Jonathan Drouin in the lineup for Syracuse tonight against Toronto.

With Drouin out of SYR lineup, 4 options why: 1. Injured. 2. Traded. 3. Held out by TB to protect asset. 4. Player choosing not to play.

Murray been saying he won't be overpay and that he isn't impressed with a player on his ELC requesting a trade.   Don't think anaheim is that much interested in drouin.

He also said there are players available that haven't requested a trade.

(He means Bob Murray, Anaheim's GM, not GMTM, btw)

Walsh seems to be pulling the strings for his client here... The mention that a trade was nearing completion lines up with the reports that a deal with St. Louis was close (my guess is Walsh is the one that leaked it so he could do this a few days later).
