LTS Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 TSN released their Top 20 Trade Deadline Targets Brian Gionta is number 11 This is a good point. He's a proven leader that can play up and down the top 9. He's a great option for a team looking for a piece to solidify their chances. He has Cup winning experience. I could see that happening and I could see him returning to Buffalo as well. Quote
WildCard Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Benning saying any conversation he has with other GMs is usually about Vancouver's defensmen Quote
WildCard Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 I want Chris Tanev goddamit. He's 27 and barely hits 20 pts a season. He has only 5 this season and no goals. What is the allure with him? Quote
darksabre Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 He's 27 and barely hits 20 pts a season. He has only 5 this season and no goals. What is the allure with him? Depth player. We need some. Quote
WildCard Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Depth player. We need some. There are only 2 players on our blue line right now that aren't depth. We have so much depth back there but no real talent Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Tanev is what everyone hopes Guhle develops into. He's great defensively and can transition the puck. Good outlet, good skater. He's basically my ideal non-stud top-4 Dman. Quote

Randall Flagg Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Then where are his points? Tanev to Sedin, Sedin to Sedin to Eriksson for the tap-in A lot of defensemen known for getting the play started don't get the points after the forwards do their work. Kulikov's best asset in florida was transition, he was a key part of theirs, but he didn't get points there either. Edited January 19, 2017 by Randall Flagg Quote
darksabre Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Then where are his points? Vancouver is bad. It's not his fault. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Then where are his points? From where in what I said did you infer he should be racking up points? I was describing Vlasic-lite. Plus what Flagg said. Points for defensemen are such a flawed measure of offensive contribution. Edited January 19, 2017 by TrueBlueGED Quote

Brawndo Posted January 20, 2017 Report Posted January 20, 2017 LeBrun: Teams are calling #NHLDucks on Montour, Theodore, Larsson. "The system doesn't allow you to hoard this kind of talent forever." Insider Trading talked about Anaheim and their glut of NHL caliber Dmen. Mentioned #Sabres as a team that may make sense as a partner. Quote
inkman Posted January 20, 2017 Report Posted January 20, 2017 Depth player. We need some.I'm sure being an RIT alum has nothing to do with it  Quote

WildCard Posted January 20, 2017 Report Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) Dreger: Shattenkirk, who does not have a no trade clause, could do a trade and extend. Sounds like he is willing to consider Toronto, NYR, Boston, Detroit, SJ, Anaheim, and going back to Colorado Edited January 20, 2017 by WildCard Quote

WildCard Posted January 20, 2017 Report Posted January 20, 2017 Friedman: 2 teams received permission to talk to Shattenkirk long term last year: Edmonton and Arizona. Arizona actually got pretty close, but couldn't get it done. To me, the only way a Canadian team is getting him is if he's a rental Quote

kas23 Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 From Friedman One Headline we couldn't get to: BUF GM Tim Murray shot down rumblings of Robin Lehner's availability after Tuesday's outburst in Toronto It's baffling there would even be any demand. Quote
Two or less Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 From Friedman One Headline we couldn't get to: BUF GM Tim Murray shot down rumblings of Robin Lehner's availability after Tuesday's outburst in Toronto Just curious, but what rumblings was there? Who was reporting we were looking to move him because of the Toronto incident? Quote
Huckleberry Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 It's baffling there would even be any demand. If you look at dallas, not that mindblowing. Even jones having a lesser year for the sharks. From the top of my hat teams with a worser goalie situation than us. Oilers, coyotes (though smith has been ok this year), stars, red wings, kings, avalanche, flyers, blues (allen has been pulled several times past few weeks) , canucks , jets. Quote

Wow, I thought Louis Domingue would be better. He's slipped from .912 save % last year to .897 this year. Quote
