Stoner Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Out. C'est la vie. Who is next? That's it? No need to do an autopsy as to why he wouldn't come? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 (How great would it be if he wound up somewhere that had not been discussed as a possibility, at least as of today?) Quote
matter2003 Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 must be going to Toronto...reports are both he is leaving Detroit and Buffalo is out... Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Is this pretty much your hope in every post, for every situation? Yea PA seems to hate Tim Murray with unabashed enthusiasm. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Sounds like Babcock to Toronto. Jon Bon Jovi is happy. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Well if Toronto snuck in and stole Babcock then good for them. Wonder what happened Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 1m1 minute ago Further to @TSNBobMcKenzie, also told by Sabres source that they are out on Babcock Quote
That Aud Smell Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 That's it? No need to do an autopsy as to why he wouldn't come? I will be interested to hear what the deal-breaker(s)/-maker(s) was/were. Quote
ddaryl Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) Nice job, Tim. Hope his ass gets ###### fired. Why ? I hope he gets a big fat promotion. I love me some TM Sounds to me that Buffalo pulled the offer Edited May 20, 2015 by ddaryl Quote
X. Benedict Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) That's it? No need to do an autopsy as to why he wouldn't come? I thought it was a coin flip. I think Murray got us close. We haven't lost anything here. (other than a bidding war). Edited May 20, 2015 by X. Benedict Quote
Kruppstahl Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Pierre LeBrun seconding that the Sabres are out Quote
MBHockey13 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Oh well, his career will die in Toronto. Seriously - that team is a disaster and years away from winning. Plus, they don't even have a GM. Honestly, if the Sabres and Babcock pretty much had a contract in place, and he was deciding between taking the contract from the Sabres or staying in Detroit, and then Toronto came out of nowhere and kept trying to drive up the price, then if the Sabres just walked away they did the right thing. That's pretty crappy if Babcock told them last night it's between staying in Detroit where his family is happy or going to the Sabres, and then tried to use Toronto. What if Babcock called the Sabres bluff and they told him "Fine. Bye." Now he's stuck in Toronto. Quote
Stoner Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Maybe the K-9 scenario came to pass. Pegula just said I'm not getting dicked around by . Quote
That Aud Smell Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Cripes. What if he's going to STL? Quote

Kruppstahl Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Is Bylsma the new favorite? I certainly hope not. Quote
Stoner Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I will be interested to hear what the deal-breaker(s)/-maker(s) was/were. We won't hear, not with any authority. Another one we'll be arguing about for years, each with our own perceived facts. Quote
G-Daddy Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Will be interesting to see gmtm plan b and what happened to the Babcock deal. Quote
Hoss Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 It's worth noting that Armstrong and Hitchcock were meeting this morning. Maybe he did choose St. Louis. Quote
K-9 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Say a fair offer to a qualified guy like Bylsma was 5 years and $12 million. If I'm him, I laugh in their face. You just offered $50 million to a guy I'm probably better than. I walk no matter what. Go to SanJose for similar money. If you call back at 5 for $15-20.....ok, I'm listening. Look at it this way.....Pegula just offered $5000 for a seat in the Club Level at the redline for the Stanley Cup and would be turned down. He comes and offers the guy 1 section over $1200 for his seat. Luke Richardson is up in the 300's and he will probably settle for that at $400. Between Wawrow saying Bylsma could be a candidate yesterday, mentioning him the first time in almost a year.....and GR asking Custance if a team should be able to collect Revenue Sharing while being able to offer unlimited funds to a coach.....it looks like us stupid jerks with our jerky thoughts are actually stupid for giving up our opinions for free. PA....maybe we should start up a podcast. Bylsma can laugh all he wants and I wish him luck in San Jose, for "similar" money. If he's really better than Babcock, he should have no trouble getting Babcock money from somebody else, though. Surely, he can convince other teams as much as he's convinced you. You seem to be saying that no matter who we end up targeting next, that he will laugh and turn us down because we were willing to overpay for the best candidate out there and that we should be willing to offer the same overpayment to anyone else. It just doesn't work that way. GO SABRES!!! Quote
