I'm getting so old! I fell asleep after the first period last night  :death:

Don't worry, I fell asleep midway through the second, woke up at 12:30 to see there was overtime, watched about 10 minutes, then fell asleep again. :bag:

SO annoyed with "TV creep."  Have your stupid ceremony announcing every player at 730 if the game is to start at 8.  No one outside the arena--no matter what team one is a fan of--wants to watch that .

Interesting stat I just came up with. Regular season and postseason save percentages from the last two years. Of course this years is up until last night.

2014

Reg. .911 (67324/73897)

Play. .911 (5105/5600)

2015

Reg. .911 (67046/73595)

Play. .924 (4095/4430)

Holy , I'm still going to be able to go to bed early, but not for the reason I had thought.  The game's not boring; it's been taken over by the Lightning.

And you spoke too late.

Where in the hell were all these goals all series/playoffs?

Battista was hoarding them.

And you spoke too late.

I laughed when I noticed you said basically the exact thing. I would've deleted the post but I laughed at my own "Lightning Fast" joke too much to do that.

That's what I'm thinking. What if it isn't illegal? They would have had to check the rulebook in Toronto, right?

I looked. There is nothing.

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/en/v3/ext/rules/2014-2015-rulebook.pdf

Sorry - found it. It's illegal.

78.5 Disallowed Goals – Apparent goals shall be disallowed by the Referee and the appropriate announcement made by the Public Address Announcer for the following reasons: (i) When the puck has been directed, batted or thrown into the net by an attacking player other than with a stick.

horseshit. if that rule was fully enforced pucks off skates would not be counted still.

NHL made a on the fly judgement call and I think it was wrong.

Is a puck off of a skate "directed, batted, or thrown," considering that the standard for a puck "directed" off of a skate is a "distinct kicking motion"?
