Eleven Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Yea but what song was that? Also I miss Jim Lorentz. Who knows? Now you've got me drinking. And a Ranger. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) Glad the Rangers lost. I'm hoping Chicago loses too. I root only for unoriginal 24 teams. ;) Edited May 30, 2015 by Bulge Quote

... Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 That's a good group, right there, led by a good guy. Glad they're getting a shot at the Cup. Quote
Thorner Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Haha, they played the Shire theme from LOTR when Stamkos went for the trophy pictures. Quote
WildCard Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Can Tampa handle the physicality brought by the West, or the 4-lines Chicago can bring? Quote
Eleven Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Can Tampa handle the physicality brought by the West, or the 4-lines Chicago can bring? Who knows if Chicago makes it. And while they can bring 4 lines, they also can bring only 4 defensemen. Quote
... Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Can Tampa handle the physicality brought by the West, or the 4-lines Chicago can bring? Good question. Not having watched TB much, from what I've seen they don't seem to rely on a physical game, and their D isn't stacked with freakishly large skaters. Quote
WildCard Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Who knows if Chicago makes it. And while they can bring 4 lines, they also can bring only 4 defensemen. This is true. Still, they have the mentality and proven ability of a winner, I don't think they want to face them. Good question. Not having watched TB much, from what I've seen they don't seem to rely on a physical game, and their D isn't stacked with freakishly large skaters. I think the Ducks are a tougher match-up for them based on exactly this, their physicality, but the possibility of going against Chicago probably has them leaning towards rooting for the Ducks. Chicago hasn't won two Cups with different rosters for no reason, they know what they're doing in crunch time. If I'm Tampa I want the Ducks because of their relative inexperience and they're less intimidating. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 The Rangers should be embarrassed with that 3rd period. No sense of urgency, no intensity, nothing. That was a horrible period. The Nash & St. Louis disappearing act was in fine form once again. Both those guys showed up twice in the postseason and they were both the same games when their opponents played their worst game. Came time for a leader to step up and they stepped down. Quote

LGR4GM Posted May 30, 2015 Author Report Posted May 30, 2015 Can Tampa handle the physicality brought by the West, or the 4-lines Chicago can bring? Chicago's problem is they only have 2 defensive pairings. Quote
Taro T Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Can Tampa handle the physicality brought by the West, or the 4-lines Chicago can bring? Don't expect they can beat Anaheim. Would probably go down in 6. Could see them beating the Hawks in 7. Quote

Eleven Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 I would love to see a Chicago-Tampa series. So much offense I think that series ends in 4 or 5. Crawford isn't going to keep up, and Chi's 4 defensemen aren't going to play 30 minutes each. Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 30, 2015 Author Report Posted May 30, 2015 Ryan McDonagh was playing with a broken foot. Quote

WildCard Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 All because of two d-men and Crawford? Who is their 3rd pairing? Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 30, 2015 Author Report Posted May 30, 2015 All because of two d-men and Crawford? Who is their 3rd pairing? No because I think that to be successful against TB you have to be physical. I think Anaheim can be and I think Chicago is built on creativity and speed which is exactly what TB does really well. Chicago's 3rd pair played something like 8minutes in the last game. I think over a 7 game series against TB those 1st two pairs will wear down. I am not sure who would have home ice in a TB/CHicago series but that could also be very important. I love Chicago, don't get me wrong. They could beat TB and it wouldn't really shock me but going into that series I favor the depth and speed of TB. Quote

Good post Liger  OTOH, how good have Tampa's 3rd/4th lines been? Callahan has been terrible, and I don't recall anyone but the top two lines producing for Tampa. I'm not sure it's the poor play of the 3rd pair for Chicago that has them playing such limited minutes, or if it's just how good the top 2 are. They seem to handle it well anyhow Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Interesting stat. Through last night the combined league save percentage for the playoffs is .921. The last three remaining goaltenders are all below average. Quote

They seem to handle it well anyhow Kimmo Timmonen was a -3 in one game and I don't think has played since. If TB has home ice advantage that last change might be a god send. As for TB their bottom two lines don't necessarily have to produce, they just need to eat minutes and be defensively responsible which they really are. I think that Ben Bishop will be the key or failure for TB in this final round. Quote
Iron Crotch Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) Quenneville normally only plays 2 pairs in the playoffs. It's just what he does. He usually only rolls 3 forward lines too. He's won 2 Cups with this philosophy. Edited May 30, 2015 by Bulge Quote
Thorner Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Tampa Bay has home ice if Chicago wins. If Anaheim wins, Ducks have it. Quote
