I see what you mean.  Like "Right now" at this snap shot in time, who are the 10 best players in the NHL.

Yup. Except the way I understand it, not just best. It's taking into account value overall. So a McDavid or Eichel may be picked high, due to their high value.

Ah Datsyuk still top 10 now, but God as best 2 way player over Toews if comparing

We should try to make it into teams, though, IMO. Have 2 lines of 3 forwards each, 2 D Pairs, and a goalie, that's 11 rounds. Then we can set our teams up as

LW-C-RW

LW-C-RW

LD-RD

LD-RD

G

And argue over whose team is best.

Agreed

This sounds good

My 2 cents: there should be 3 lines of forwards; that way some will pick a shutdown line and some will go w/ a 2006 Sabres team. W/ only 2 forward lines, there is a bit of a loss of strategy, again, IMHO.

May I suggest a compromise. Pick a core of six players. Those that will be supplemented with the rest of a roster. Ex Chicago has Toews, Kane, Keith, Hossa, Seabrooke ....Saad? Crawford? That might make it interesting

A bunch of dudes that complain about Bettman for his lack of management skills.......

nailed it.

"I have a TRADE to announce!!" *With Bettman's usual smug tone and expression*

That LGR, out having fun on a Saturday night when he should be on Sabrespace:

Current draft:

1. WildCard (Buffalo) - Patrick Kane

2. Randall Flagg (Arizona) - Connor McDavid

3. Liger (Edmonton) -

4. JJ (Toronto) -

5. Randall Flagg (Carolina) -

Would anyone have picked McDavid number one?

If you believe he is this generation's player, you've set your franchise up for the next decade.

He could be, but Crosby is too, and Kane is a much better playoff performer than Crosby.

So basically when it's my turn I pick who I think is best of the remaining available players? Essentially my top 10 list has nothing to do with this.

Don't worry JJ, you won't be picking any time soon.
