woods-racer Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 After the Derby, we all sat around and watched Erie Otters vs. Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on the NHL Network. Kind of partial to the Otters for obvious reasons , and thought it was a great game. Quote
Cereal Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 I can't remember if it was yesterday or Friday but I saw a basketball score scroll across my screen and it was something like 120-66. And for some reason there was only one NHL game on yesterday, guess Calgary and Anaheim needed the extra time to fly from Anaheim to Anaheim, while Tampa and Montreal have to play 2 games in 2 nights to make up for it later this week. If it makes you feel better, there was a concert at the Honda Center on Saturday night (New Kids on the Block with very special guests TLC and Nelly!!) These things happen all the time. Now... why do we both WC games on at the same time tonight? Quote
X. Benedict Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Ovechkin with a b-e-a-utiful goal in the Washington loss http://www.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2015-05-02/alex-ovechkin-rangers-incredible-goal-nhl-playoffs-stanley-cup Best goal i've seen this year. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Flynn and Mitchell don't look too terrible when they're not forced to play out of their roles Quote
darksabre Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 We're only one Tampa goal away from Subban having a temper tantrum. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 He's already had a couple mini tantrums Quote
darksabre Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 That whole team is asleep at the wheel right now. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 Montreal does not look interested in this game, terrible penalties too Don't know what my bracket thinking was, this could be a sweep Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted May 3, 2015 Report Posted May 3, 2015 That whole team is asleep at the wheel right now. Tampa is finding their legs at the same time the Habs have realized they don't have any. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 That look on Michelle's (thanks Roenick) face was "Price"less! Quote
Eleven Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Flynn and Mitchell don't look too terrible when they're not forced to play out of their roles Umm...no. And a Stanley Cup team has no room for their roles, anyway. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Umm...no. And a Stanley Cup team has no room for their roles, anyway. I guess that's why they got blown out. Quote
bunomatic Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Prust goes to the media and claims the ref called him a piece if Shitt among other choice words on the way to the box. He may have just doomed the habs to the wrong side of a few calls going forward. As the panel on HNC said those refs have long memories. Quote
darksabre Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 It's too bad Montreal and Pittsburgh are in the same conference, they'd make a great matchup for the Cry Baby Cup. Quote

I don't have any issues with these guys calling each other names on the ice, not like it's anything new. But the league needs to look into this. I've seen players get 2 minutes for calling refs much less than that, I've even seen on several occasions players getting 2 minutes for calling another player a name. Assuming these is some truth to this the league needs to address the situation because if they're going to allow their officials to act like that on the ice then they need to legalize the same for the players. If there's one thing I can't stand it's double standards. Quote
WildCard Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Patrick Kane is just too good. I love hearing the line, "Eichel is the best American prospect since Patrick Kane" and then watching Kane play on a different level than others. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Great effort by Vanek after the turnover. Quote
SwampD Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Why do guys tap their helmet with the goalie's helmet after a win? They don't do it with the other players. Especially after Crawford took a stinger off the melon, it seems like not the smartest thing to do. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 The Ducks look like they might be too much for the Flames. Quote
qwksndmonster Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Umm...no. And a Stanley Cup team has no room for their roles, anyway. Mitchell played a great game tonight. He looked the part of a PKing 4th liner on any cup team. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Mitchell played a great game tonight. He looked the part of a PKing 4th liner on any cup team. Yup. I'm even open to bringing him back as McCormick's replacement on the 4th line (I hope he retires, to be honest). Separately, watching Chicago play is awesome. I'm really pulling for a Tampa-Chicago final. Quote
MBHockey13 Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) I went to the Blackhawks playoff game here in Chicago after I went to the Cubs game earlier and it was more awesome than you can imagine. I can't wait for Sabres games to be like that. Edited May 4, 2015 by MBHockey13 Quote
Two or less Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Someone get Tampa off of Montreal. lol I heard a crazy stat tonight- since Montreal swept Tampa in last years playoffs, the Lightning havn't lost to the Habs. 7-0-0. Yup. I'm even open to bringing him back as McCormick's replacement on the 4th line (I hope he retires, to be honest). I think Murray can do better. The Ducks look like they might be too much for the Flames. "Might be"? They've outscored them 9-1 and outshot them by 15. This series is all but over. Quote
