Brawndo Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Report out of Boston that Rodigues the second leading scorer in college last season has signed the Sabres. He was on the wing with some guy named Eichel Edited April 22, 2015 by BRAWNDO Quote
Doohicksie Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) NO WAI. :w00t: Well that should quiet the "Murray's gonna trade up" meme. Cool: Plays either wing, shoots right. Edited April 22, 2015 by Neuvichs Perchatka Quote

Doohicksie Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Quick! Change your projected lineups - Rodrigues on Eichel's right, Kane on his left. I'm lovin' it. Next up the goalie. I know, right? Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 I expect him to start in Rochester and perhaps spend the entire season there. From what I have gathered he is really more of a 3rd line guy and we shouldn't expect his offensive output to match what it did in college. That said most sources comment on his two way game. Quote
Fire Eater Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Cool. Wonder why he went undrafted. Quote
inkman Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Well that should quiet the "Murray's gonna trade up" meme. Wut Quote
Two or less Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 In that link, it says the BU coach considers Rodrigues as one of the smartest players hes ever coached. Thats a pretty good endorsement. Amerks should be pretty stacked next season. Quote

He is a smallish college free agent. Long shot to make the NHL. Extreme long shot to play on first line. Think Brian Flynn which isn't a bad thing. Edited April 22, 2015 by tom webster Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Cool. Wonder why he went undrafted. Size and lack of offensive skill at 18 would be my guess. NO WAI. :w00t: Well that should quiet the "Murray's gonna trade up" meme. Cool: Plays either wing, shoots right. I think Murray still wants to trade up, if you mean the 2nd first rounder we own. Either that or he trades that pick. Quote

That's not to say that Flynn isn't a useful player though. Quote
Doohicksie Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Ooh baby. Evan Rodrigues will be fine. Quote
X. Benedict Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Ooh baby. Evan Rodrigues will be fine. This guy is like Bo Jackson. Quote
Derrico Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Does this help eichel make his decision to move on from bu easier? Quote
darksabre Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Does this help eichel make his decision to move on from bu easier? Only if you think they'll ever play together. Which is unlikely. Quote
Hoss Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 It just got the Bob McKenzie stamp of confirmation. Two-year deal. Quote
Doohicksie Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Does this help eichel make his decision to move on from bu easier? Oh boy does it. Only if you think they'll ever play together. Which is unlikely. Why do you say that? They already know how to play together. What better way to bring Eichel into the NHL? He shoots right; he can play right wing with Eichel at center and Kane on the left. Edited April 22, 2015 by Neuvichs Perchatka Quote
darksabre Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 Oh boy does it. Why do you say that? They already know how to play together. What better way to bring Eichel into the NHL? You need to think about where he projects. An undrafted college free agent isn't starting in the NHL next year and he's definitely not playing with Eichel. Quote
Hoss Posted April 22, 2015 Report Posted April 22, 2015 It's highly doubtful that Rodrigues plays in the NHL full-time ever, let alone starting on a first line next season. He's a longshot, but he should be a good piece in Rochester at least. Quote
