Andrew Amerk Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 So then you don't know the context of Murray's remark regarding the fans being disappointed. Perhaps you could have just admitted that instead of projecting your own profound sense of disappointment at not winning the lottery. GO SABRES!!! You can't be serious. What do you think the comment was about? A comment made right after the draft results? He's disappointed that the fans don't have access to pizza logs at FNC until October??? Quote
... Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) That GMTM says stupid things when you put a microphone in front of him? It's not a stupid thing to say if there's context to make its meaning clear. In the full clip, does Murray provide the context? Edited April 19, 2015 by SiZzlEmeIsTEr Quote

He's disappointed that the fans don't have access to pizza logs at FNC until October??? That comment could be about anything which is why context is important. Until I know what the context is, it's just your incessant need to keep projecting your personal disappointment about having to settle for Eichel. And most fans with a clue would be more disappointed about not having pizza logs until October than about drafting Jack Eichel. GO SABRES!!! Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 If people are disappointed about not getting McDavid we hear you. Buffalo still gets a great player who is going to be a great player in this league. People say Buffalo tanked. Yeah maybe but they striped the entire core out and started a total rebuild almost down to expansion team level. Most teams don't do that. And Murray said he wasn't going to keep UFA's without getting something in return. Tank? No smart, these players weren't doing much for us anyway. So if u think we lost out because we didn't land McDavid then you haven't been watching a lot of either one of these top two players. Quote

GO SABRES!!! “I watch him too much and I think too much about him,” said Murray, who has been scouting teenage N.H.L. prospects for 23 seasons. “I wish I could help myself.” WHATS THE CONTEXT THOUGH??? When someone asks you for the quote of an ambiguous quote, it means the surrounding language. In his press conference, murray said he had no disappointment of the order/players. He said he was disappointed with the annoying process. So a quote about being disappointed for fans needs context to mean something. Anyways, you trying to convince others to be disappointing with eichel with goofy quotes and made up goals about the tank isnt fooling anyone. There are probably a few other people who believe that crap too though Be upset about eichel, dont make stuff up Edited April 19, 2015 by Vlad Dangerslakov Quote
... Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Why do we start picking and choosing quotes from you, Amerk, and responding to those out of context quotes, and then you can let us know if context is important, k? Quote

SabresBillsFan Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Who cares about McDavid anymore. Edmonton is going to pick him. It should be interesting to see if they move someone else for defensive help. Yeah fans in Buffalo are going to be disappointed. Oh well it's done. We still get Eichel who is a great young player. The NHL should be ashamed because he goes to Edmonton who really isn't in a market to showcase him often. Quote

... Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Context is now pee. Are you saying context is equal to urine? That's pretty ridiculous, as pee is liquid, and context is a non-tangible concept used to describe certain aspects of discourse. Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Right! What did he REALLY mean when he said that? Guess we will never know. We don't even know when or what he was talking about. he could have been fans are disappointed because of the season. Quote

I am re-listening to the entire conference to find this if I can. Thanks, Liger. I'b be interested to know if it's in there. The first time I listened, I didn't hear that. Johnny DangerFace Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) i didnt hear the quote either. its all over twitter, but no source an unknown quote with zero context >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a contradictory fleshed out quote stating the opposite in a press conference Edited April 19, 2015 by Vlad Dangerslakov Quote

Andrew Amerk Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 We don't even know when or what he was talking about. ###### he could have been fans are disappointed because of the season. I wrote that in response to his "I'm obsessed with McDavid" quote. Quote
French Collection Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 At the Frozen Four final, retired BU coach Jack Parker, who recruited Eichel said it was a bit unfair to the kid but compared his playing style to Mario Lemieux. Quote
K-9 Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Right! What did he REALLY mean when he said that? Guess we will never know. Well, I'm pretty sure he didn't mean "I'm disappointed for the fans" when he said weeks ago that he can't stop looking at McDavid when he watches him play. I can see how it makes perfect sense for you to just throw random quotes out there and insist they all mean the same thing. You know, for someone making so much fun of Murray's infatuation with McDavid, you sure seem like a jilted prom date since learning we won't be drafting him. GO SABRES!!! Quote

Robviously Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 It's not a stupid thing to say if there's context to make its meaning clear. In the full clip, does Murray provide the context? There's no context to make "The fans should be disappointed" a smart thing to say. The Sabres did everything they could to suck this year so that they could finish 30th and be in this exact position -- even if it meant making their fans completely miserable a second year in a row. Putting a cherry on that with "The fans should be disappointed" is just a wildly idiotic thing to say. And, BTW, there was an 80% chance he was going to have to give remarks on this outcome. And this is what he came up with??? All he had to do was spend 10 minutes this afternoon thinking of a good way to express that the fans and Eichel should all be excited about the future regardless of the Sabres not winning the lottery today.
