inkman Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I was watching NESN last night and the question of the day was what do they do with Lucic. He's got a big cap number, his production fell way off and their going to need some cap relief next season. I hate the guy but I'm curious to see how many of you would want him on the Sabres. Quote
dudacek Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 No, unless they are giving him away. And only partly because he's an ass. He seems to have lost his edge. Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 He is a LFS and a LW. Desluariers gives us his toughness and Kane easily gives us his toughness plus better production. I think the assets needed to acquire him would be better spent elsewhere. Also why help the Bruins out of cap hell, let them rot. They were stupid to trade Seguin and soon they will be paying for it. Quote
inkman Posted April 15, 2015 Author Report Posted April 15, 2015 I suppose I'd only want to do it if it was a Hodgson + swap for him. Not sure why they would want to do that. Quote

Yup, they are about to go in a tailspin. Now watch them get McDavid..... Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Yup, they are about to go in a tailspin. Now watch them get McDavid..... They are the one team I honestly wonder if you could somehow trade #2 for #1 with. But let's not start that. Boston after their cup win did a ton of dumb things. They are going to be the Sabres b**** soon because they lack talent and toughness. Quote
Weave Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I'd take him for the right price. I'm not sure what that price is though. Like porn, I'd know it when I see it. After some more thought, I think at this point he is a 2nd line forward, destined to be a bottom 6 guy in maybe a couple seasons. The price would have to reflect that, and that he'd be overpaid for that role. Quote
Doohicksie Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I can't think of any compelling reason I would want him on the team. He doesn't fill any need the Sabres have. Quote
sabresith Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Not a chance. Unless its Tuuka or Pasternack I want nothing to do with any of their players. Quote

Taro T Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 After they release him to get out of the cap hit; sure, why not take a flier on him. Quote
Hoss Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 No thanks. He's broken. He plays like he's ashamed of himself. Quote
sabresith Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Malcolm Subban? Hmm, forgot about him. Yeah, I would take him for a reasonable price. Quote
nfreeman Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 I would take Lucic in a heartbeat, especially if the Sabres can unload Hodgson in the deal. He'd be a great bodyguard for Reinhart or Eichel (or the other guy, whose name I'm not going to write to avoid a jinx). The Sabres have a ton of cap space, and he's entering the last year of his contract, so the risk would be low -- and he'll have contract-year motivation. Quote
K-9 Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Only if we can bring back Miller and they become road roomies. GO SABRES!!! Quote
LastPommerFan Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Yup, they are about to go in a tailspin. Now watch them get McDavid..... They're not Hockey Ops Favorite team any more. Quote
... Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 No. No thanks. He's broken. He plays like he's ashamed of himself. He needs Teddy. Quote

Why not have a policeman who can score a bit on one of our young centers wings? Quote

Even though the Sabres now have Kane, Lucic brings something else. Something else that it looks like the Sabres are still missing. That certain attitude, where no prisoners will be taken. Lucic brings that. And I love the sound of his name. Surprisingly enough every one that I hear says it correctly. He must have mentioned how to say it properly at some point. Quote

SDS Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 26 years old and this rare generational player is now almost an afterthought? Quote
Samson's Flow Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 As well he should. Too soon. We already have that. It's called Deslauriers. and Bogo... and Kane... we don't need to worry about toughness anymore. This isn't 2007. Quote
LGR4GM Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 and Bogo... and Kane... we don't need to worry about toughness anymore. This isn't 2007. Ristolainen, Zadorov, Zemgus, Weber, Gorges, Foligno... if only we had someone! Seriously though Lucic brings nothing that isn't already here. If he played RW I might be more inclined. Quote
