Hoss Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Permission? From whom I wonder. Ghost, maybe? GO SABRES!!! The Pens. They're still paying him. Buccigross says the Sabres already interviewed Luke Richardson.
woods-racer Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Dominique Ducharme :flirt: Why's he getting permission from a Circa 1800's French Settler? :nana:
beerme1 Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 So what are some names we haven't discussed? Get to know Randy Carlyle.
Doohicksie Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Get to know Randy Carlyle. I'd rather get to know Belinda Carlisle.
Iron Crotch Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I'm down with Bylsma. I'm just hopefully the search can be wrapped up relatively quickly so Murray can turn his attention to drafting, free agents, and trades.
qwksndmonster Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Craig Custance: Sabres moving on quickly from Babcock. Have received permission to interview Dan Bylsma. They moved on so quickly, it only took them an entire day to stop whining lividly about not getting Babdick.
LGR4GM Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 "I've had a couple calls from people who know somebody or is somebody who is interested" Tim Murray on the Sabres coaching search. On Babcock deal "People are looking for a smoking gun and there isn't one"
X. Benedict Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I'd rather get to know Belinda Carlisle. My lips are sealed.
Derrico Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Get to know Randy Carlyle. I would actually listen to this idea. He has a Stanley Cup to his resume and although the leafs were horrible I think that's a product of their roster. Look how far that tank job went after he was fired.
... Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Good interview with Murray on WGR. I guess that puts some things in their places...unless you don't believe him. :w00t:

He has a Stanley Cup to his resume and although the leafs were horrible I think that's a product of their roster. Look how far that tank job went after he was fired. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Run away, run far far away! The players quitting on the interim coach does not mean what Carlyle did was good. If you like getting out-shot by 15 every night, Carlyle would be a great hire. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Derrico Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 To add to the Carlyle point, he had a .600 winning percentage with the Ducks plus a cup. He also had a .554 winning percentage with the leafs. That second stat is pretty impressive with that roster.
... Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 They moved on so quickly, it only took them an entire day to stop whining lividly about not getting Babdick. Sounds to me like someone mischaracterized Murray/Pegula's reaction...perhaps a reaction in the moment, but, if Murray is being honest (which I have no reason to doubt), they go right back to business.

You don't think that was mainly the fact that you had Tyler Bozak as your number 1 centre through the entire coaching tender??
Stoner Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Good interview with Murray on WGR. I guess that puts some things in their places...unless you don't believe him. :w00t: He sounds believable. But of course an organization in the Sabres' position would have every reason to play nice. The truth is almost certainly somewhere in the middle.
dudacek Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Or the PR guys told him not to repeat the lottery pseudo-controversy. Probably as simple as the insiders heard the initial reaction second-hand and weren't far wrong, but the public isn't going to get confirmation.
TrueBlueGED Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 You don't think that was mainly the fact that you had Tyler Bozak as your number 1 centre through the entire coaching tender?? Carlyle's coaching and system are in the wrong time in NHL history. The Ducks possession numbers increased significantly when he left, and the Leafs did too even if the players ended up quitting. I honestly don't know if I'd watch games if Carlyle were named coach, that's how bad I think he is. May as well have kept Nolan.

Doing some additional research and it appears Corsi numbers were horrendous. Moving on.
LGR4GM Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 John Vogl @BuffNewsVogl 59s59 seconds ago Quick aside: I know why Sabres and Tim Murray are mad at media & want to avoid it, but today's interview with WGR shows whey they shouldn't

TrueBlueGED Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 What the hell does that mean? He's aware of how his colleagues are sometimes, uh, sometimes douchie.
LGR4GM Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 What the hell does that mean? I think it means the speculation over the Sabres and the riff with the Buffalo News is actually a thing.
Jsixspd Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 I want to see a Stanley Cup winning coach working for the Sabres this fall. My needs are simple - I don't want to waste years on an experiment with an AHL coach, or someone without a winning track record, hoping they'll succeed. We need a proven producer on the team.
