deluca67 Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 It's almost like history repeating it's self. Back in '78 Chuck Knox joined the Bills and then in '79 Bowman joined the Sabres. This season Rex Ryan joined the Bills and now Mike Babcock is about to join the Sabres.
Stoner Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 I'm chuckling at the idea that Murray would let Babcock slip away. Babcock can pretty much ask for whatever he wants, no?

nfreeman Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 I'm chuckling at the idea that Murray would let Babcock slip away. Babcock can pretty much ask for whatever he wants, no? Probably, but I can see TP getting put off if Babcock is unreasonable. (But Babcock doesn't seem like he would be unreasonable.)
Kruppstahl Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Let's please have this be like history IMPROVING itself. Are you suggesting that the Knox/Bowman years were less than stellar around here!? :P
deluca67 Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Let's please have this be like history IMPROVING itself. By the will of the sports gods, YES!!!!!!!
Hoss Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Not quite sure where Kypreos is going here: So what does Babcock do with his new amazing long term #Sabres offer, accept? He wouldn't try and shop it back to #Redwings would he?
Brawndo Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 @RealKyper: So what does Babcock do with his new amazing long term #Sabres offer, accept? He wouldn't try and shop it back to #Redwings would he? I think the Wings thank him for his service

He wouldn't try and shop it back to #Redwings would he? I'm always intrigued by who these anonymous sources are and why they talk. What's your take on the source being someone close to Babcock — in other words, are negotiations going on informally through the media?
PromoTheRobot Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) I vote for "CRO-MO" which of course is short for "Cro-Magnon Man." Babcock has a certain je ne sais quoi about him that shouts out "Upper Paleolithic" if you ask me. Unfrozen Caveman Hockey Coach?. Edited May 19, 2015 by Promonov Robotnik
Brawndo Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 @JSportsnet: Source inside Sabres suggests that it's "50-50" that Babcock agrees to terms with Buffalo.

LaLaLaFontaine Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 That is crazy money, but maybe the only chance to get him here. I also like that we commit to stability on coaching bench with this move
