pi2000 Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 John Muckler HC. Trade Grigorenko, 2016 1st, to move up from 2 to 1 draft Eichel first, who then decides to stay in school. Pysyk retires. Trade Foligno for Ryan Miller. Quote
tom webster Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 I'll say Nolan gets let go in the next couple of days. Will make the rest of my guesses next weekend. Nothing else major that's Sabres related will happen this week so hopefully you don't consider that gaming the system. I am so sure this happens that I have considered giving everyone that says he stays a mulligan Quote
Hoss Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 -Sabres win the lottery and draft McDavid -Nolan out, Babcock in (McLellan if we get Eichel) -Two new goalies in Buffalo (Niemi and O'Connor) -One of Ennis, Foligno or Zadorov will not be here -None of Benoit, Meszaros, Strachan, Ellis, Lindback, Hackett, Varone, Dalpe, D'Amigo, Kaleta, Ruhwedel or Johnson will be in Buffalo at the start of next season -Joel Ward signed -Mike Green or Francois Beauchemin join the top four -Jordin Tootoo signed -Hodgson is elsewhere -Murray signs at least two players to offer sheets Quote

Babcock urges Murray to extend a qualifying offer to Grigorenko. Hodgson and a 2015 2nd are a trade package.Reinhart starts in Rochester. Michael Frolik is signed.Kaleta gets a one year 2-way contract.Antti Niemi is given a 3 year, $12 mil contract.Lindback gets a one year contract. McCormick retires - Pegula offers him a job somewhere in Hockey Heaven Ellis and Strachan get signed for Rochester. Edited April 13, 2015 by SiZzlEmIsTEr Quote
Samson's Flow Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Stole Dudacek's format above but changed the picks to reflect my responses. Nolan gets fired So does Cassidy in Rochester Sabres lose lottery, select Jack Eichel GMTM uses other 1st round pick to make a trade for a top 6 player; if not traded used to pick a defensemen (like Kylington) Girgorenko remains on the team Cody Hodgson remains on team and plays RW Sabres sign Niemi in the offseason Sabres start the year with Eichel, Reinhart as top two centers Babcock rumored as Sabres next head coach, but we end up with Luke Richardson Arthurs Irbe is only coach retained from last year. Sabres finish within 10 points of a playoff spot next year. It is again enjoyable to watch Sabres hockey. Quote

Samson's Flow Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 BOLD! :) :) To be fair, we usually have a little longer to make our predictions. If you have followed any of my posts for the past few months, you would know that I was strongly in the "Ted Nolan gets fired immediately" camp. I just didn't visit the board all weekend to make my picks before the firing. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Eichel NO'Reilly Teddy Stays Neuvirth Boomarangs No top six/four FA signings Jack Eichel gets in some minor off ice trouble in the off season Cody Hodgson bought out, nobody cries. Just to clarify, I was referring to Ted Black. Quote

Swedesessed Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) Toronto is given the lottery by Bettman and gets McDavid: Sabres draft Jack Eichel. Luke Richardson is named Head Coach of the Buffalo Sabres. Sabres sign Antti Niemi to a 3 year contract. Sabres sign Mike Green to a 5 year contract. Edited April 13, 2015 by (E5) Quote
Taro T Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Edmonton wins lottery. Sabres pick Eichel; Arizona grabs Hannifan. Chadd is relieved of Amerks coaching duties within the week. Tippett opts out of Arizona, ends up next Buffalo Sabres head coach. Sabres try to bring in top line RW, can't work out a deal. Chris Stewart signed as FA as a result. Sabres bring in 2 UFA D. 1 top line pairing guy, 1 3rd pairing / 1st Ra-cha-cha call up sort. Jones gets offer sheeted and LA doesn't match. Flyers offer sheet Toffoli and Kings match that. Jones & Johnson start year as goalies. Sabres bring in top line RW in major October trade. Next year's 1st, Grigo or Larsson, Stewart, and Moulson or Gionta are the cost. (If both of those have no trade clauses, then replace Moulson / Gionta w/ Deslauriers & Fasching.) Sabres get to 94 points. Tippett named CotY and Murray GMotY. Go big or go home. Quote
Hoss Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Taro already loses -- Tippett doesn't have an opt-out clause, contrary to previous reports. Quote
ubkev Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) We draft Jack Eichel #2 overall. Samson plays with the Sabres all year. We trade some Russians. Both Grigorenko and Zadorov. Liger will have a raging hard on for every prospect we draft. (I kid, Liger. I like your enthusiasm.) Edited April 20, 2015 by ubkev Quote
tom webster Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 I guess its time I chime in; Sabres make Babcock highest paid coach in NHL history Grigs and Hodgson are traded Eichel is picked #2 and signs a contract within a month of the draft Sabres acquire Sharp and Hjalmalsson from Chicago for picks and a prospect Neuvirth is brought back along with Lindback And one other major move, either Kessel, Arizona's pick, O'Reilly or Eberle, I can't decide. I can't win anyway so........ Quote

dudacek Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Eberle has to be in play. Oilers' ask would be Zemgus. Not sure if Pysyk/Zadorov plus NYI first would do it. Don't think I would make the second deal. Wouldn't make the first. Quote
