tom webster Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 The rules are simple. Just predict what changes will or won't happen this off season. The person I judge to be closest will win two prime tickets(blue line, 20 rolls up on the aisle) to a regular season game. Past winners will tell you I do my best to accommodate the winners request. Please only enter once. . I will listen to any feedback on how we can adjust or change the rules but for now its my rules and while there are many variables to consider, the winner has usually been pretty obvious. Also, we don't want this to be drudgery so try and have some fun with it Quote
Randall Flagg Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Sabres lose the lottery and happily take Jack Eichel. Nolan is fired and replaced with Richardson. LastPommerFan Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 That is one hell of a disappointing offseason. I get the feeling GMTM will want to see what he has before adding more pieces. And + Eichel - Hodgson is hardly disappointing. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I get the feeling GMTM will want to see what he has before adding more pieces. And + Eichel - Hodgson is hardly disappointing. Is for me. I expect a team to be put together that can at least flirt with playoff contention. Your offseason doesn't come close IMO. Quote
Tondas Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Regarding Richardson for coach next year. Hasn't the rumor mill been saying he wants one more year in Bingo because his daughter is attending Cornell as a senior and he wants to be there to see her graduate? If true, that could give TN one more year. Quote

dudacek Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I get the feeling GMTM will want to see what he has before adding more pieces. And + Eichel - Hodgson is hardly disappointing. Disagree. Four picks in the first two rounds, more propsects than space, $30 million in cap room and an aggressive GM does not equal a quiet off-season. Quote

Sabres try for O'Reilly but his price is too high We stick with lindback/Johnson combo and keep makarov in Rochester. Copy Hodgson works out with Gary Roberts again however he is traded as part of a package deal for a winger and/or picks Strachan stays on, Benoit is gone Pegula finally makes an appearance and says were gonna win a cup. Kane and reinhart are FINE and will be in buffalo to start the season Murray exposes himself in public while reading an article about McDavid in a magazine. Sabres acquire ward or toffoli not both. SabresFanInRochester Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 Sabres win lottery and select McDavid. At the draft, Buffalo's pick from the Islanders is traded to Colorado along with Zadarov and Larsson for O'Reilly. Buffalo stands pat in goal with Lindback and add O'Connor from BU. The only free agents to resign with Buffalo are Lindback, Grigorenko, and Strachan, who signs for depth on D. Kaleta, Meszaros, and Benoit all move on. Nolan is replaced by Babcock. Stewart comes back to Buffalo to add some depth at RW and grit. McCormick receives an injury settlement and the role of fighter is replaced by a bunch of chippy guys -- Bogosian, Weber, Deslauriers, Foligno, Stewart. Depth chart going into season: Girgensons McDavid Kane Moulson O'Reilly Ennis Stewart Grigorenko Gionta Deslauriers Reinhart Foligno Gorges Bogosian Ristolainen Pysyk Weber Ruhwedel Lindback Quote

Taro T Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) I'll say Nolan gets let go in the next couple of days. Will make the rest of my guesses next weekend. Nothing else major that's Sabres related will happen this week so hopefully you don't consider that gaming the system. Edited April 12, 2015 by Taro T Quote
dudacek Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Nolan gets fired So does Cassidy in Rochester Sabres win lottery, take McDavid Girgorenko traded Murray moves up in the draft to take a defenceman Team takes on a big contract from a cap-strapped team One promising young goalie acquired via trade Neuvirth re-signed to a modest contract One mid-roster veteran free agent skater signed Hudson Fasching signed, plays with the Amerks A handful of youngish AHLers signed (D'Amigo/Varone types) in bid to rebuild the farm Babcock signs the biggest contract ever by an NHL coach Kaleta is told to look for another NHL job, and that if he doesn't get one he has a job with the organization. Benoit, Meszaros, Strachan, Lindback, Hackett, Dalpe, Sundher, Liewen, Gauthier-Leduc and Samuels-Thomas not offered contracts in low-roster purge Ellis re-signed with the intent of playing him in Rochester Reinhart makes the team Edited April 12, 2015 by dudacek Quote
LabattBlue Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) - Nolan fired - New Coach...Plan A - Babcock Plan B - Richardson - Sabres lose lottery. Afterwards, no way they are paying a ransom to move up to #1 and NFG Murray is not trading down. Eichel will be the cornerstone of the franchise for the next 15 years. - Fasching & Compher both stay in college for junior years - Cassidy fired - Reinhart starts season with Buffalo - Sabres trade for, or sign a starting goalie in F/A for next year. No way are they going into next season with Johnson & Makarov. My guess...they sign Niemi, Dubnyk, or Hammond, or trade for Martin Jones. Johnson will be the backup, and one more year in the AHL for Makarov before moving up to NHL duty full time #2 duty in 16-17. - Hodgson will NOT be bought out or traded. Will be given one last chance to thrive on the wing. If he fails, he will be dumped at the deadline or bought out next summer. - One russkie moved(Grigs) & one russkie stays(Zadorov). Z will remain with the Sabres and not be an Amerk. - Sabres do NOT trade for ROR. - Sign a vet winger for top 9...Frolik, Ward, Williams or Jagr - Sign vet blueline presence...Beauchemin, Oduya or Salvador - Kaleta re-signed by Sabres - McCormick retires due to injury concerns - Ellis & Strachan re-signed for the Amerks - RFA's Dalpe, Varone, D'Amigo & Larsson are all tendered offers. Larsson will end up with the Sabres. The other 3 with the Amerks. Edited April 12, 2015 by LabattBlue Quote
