I hope this is the end of it. There has been a thread I've looked forward to starting for months now, and I would very much like to do so tomorrow night

I have no video for this.  As many of you may know starting with the Pominville trade I wanted this team to sell off everything and hit the reset button.  It has been a long road full of doubts and questionable decisions.  We have fired coaches and gm's.  We have battled through what amounts to two full seasons of clearing the decks and letting the kids grow.  We as fans have fought eachother, the team, and ownership.  The price paid was large.  I would like to see it officially end tonight.  Our team has grown into this oddly resilient group of mostly young men who I actually am starting to feel pride for.  A pride that I have most assuredly not felt since November 12, 2011.  I don't want to be the punch line of the jokes anymore.  It is tiresome to hear all about how Buffalo sucks, our sports teams suck.  For once let us finish what we set out to do.  Maybe then starting tomorrow the Sabres reason for existence can be to win the Stanley Cup.

I'm going to my first and only Sabres game tonight.  I want a win, screw the tank for tonight.  Let Zona finish this for us.

I will never hope that the Sabres don't win and I won't do it now.

 

That said, I think we have all had enough and want this to end.

I hope Rod the bod suits up and scores a hat trick and they put an image of a smug, smirking Laviolette on the jumbotron for the whole damn game. I friggin despise the Canes, but for tonight I hope they crush our bones to dust. Let's end this thing tonight for all time.

I have a sister and brother in law living in the wake forest/Raleigh area they are caniacs so as much as I want this to end I have a sibling rivalry to uphold.

 

 

However I won't cry if we lose.

The reason for all the stuff that's happened over the last two years has been to win the Stanley Cup.

We can only hope. I dare say I've watched more games this year than I did last year. If only to see whether or not these guys could show me something hopeful. I have hope. I haven't had that since Chris Drury walked out the door. It's been a long wait.
