Derrico Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 NHL.com mock drafts out. Don't have a single difference until pick seven: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=797221 http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=797225 The order sometimes changes around based on different websites and scouting services but the vast majority have those 6 as almost a consensus top 6. LGR4GM Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 idk if he is any good but in the 4th round can we draft Oleg Sosunov, the 6'8" 230lb LHD? Just because he is big and a LHD. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted January 20, 2016 Author Report Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) The order sometimes changes around based on different websites and scouting services but the vast majority have those 6 as almost a consensus top 6. You definitely want to be in the top 6 if you want a sure-fire NHL stud. However, if the Sabres do happen to end up 7th or 8th there are a couple of OHL Dmen ive been watching the last couple of weeks 1) Olli Juolevi - London Knights 2) Mikhail Sergachev - Windsor Spitfires. you knew someone would eventually do it - McKeen Hockey ranks Laine (my personal fav for Sabres) as their #1 prospect. TOP 30 / MCKEEN'S 2016 NHL DRAFT RANKINGS 1 Patrik Laine RW Tappara (Fin) 6-4/210 1998-04-19 26-8-9-17 2 Auston Matthews C ZSC Zurich (Sui) 6-1/195 1997-09-17 25-18-12-30 3 Jesse Puljujarvi RW Karpat Oulu (Fin) 6-4/205 1998-05-07 34-6-8-14 4 Michael McLeod C Mississauga (OHL) 6-2/190 1998-02-03 40-17-29-46 5 Olli Juolevi D London (OHL) 6-2/185 1998-05-05 30-4-20-24 6 Alexander Nylander C Mississauga (OHL) 6-0/180 1998-03-02 35-23-28-51 7 Jakob Chychrun D Sarnia (OHL) 6-2/215 1998-03-31 37-6-19-25 8 Matthew Tkachuk LW London (OHL) 6-1/195 1997-12-11 32-15-47-62 9 Mikhail Sergachyov D Windsor (OHL) 6-2/205 1998-06-25 42-11-18-29 10 Charles McAvoy D Boston University (HE) 6-0/205 1997-12-21 20-1-11-12 Edited January 20, 2016 by Crusader1969 Quote
Hoss Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Auston Matthews just scored his 20th goal in 27 games in the top Swiss league. 20-13-33 in 27 games. Quote
WildCard Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 How good is that for that league? Quote
Randall Flagg Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 I feel like that's an incredible season for an 18 year old. Quote
Hoss Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) It's very good for an 18 year old. He's in the top ten in scoring (the top also includes guys like Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Cory Conacher and D'Agostini, though). He also missed a chunk of time. Trying to find PPG stats. Edit: Top-ten scorer delete playing ten to twelve less games than those ahead of him. Edited January 22, 2016 by Hoss Quote

Hmmm, when I watched him at the WJC, he looked a little slow, needs to work on his skating, but he's big and can fire the puck. I liked Puljujarvi's game better, seems more pro-ready... Matthews looked better than both of them IMO, he could do it all, 200ft game, elite shot, sees the ice extremely well for an 18y/o with an extremely high hockey IQ.... he's elite as they come at that age. Rasmus_ Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Not as high on McLeod as I probably should be. I would definitely take Tkachuk. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Know what's cool about this draft? We could use any of the top guys. Unless we end up drafting 8th or something, I'm pretty ambivalent (other than Matthews, of course). Quote

Thorner Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 I hear that PUljujujujujujuarvivivjuri guy is sweet Can you at least spell his name correctly, if we are going to be talking about him so much?? It's: Pullulululalululiiiiiiaarviiiiiriui. There's also an accent in there somewhere but I don't know how to put that in. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 So if Murray can somehow get another first rounder, who in the later first might be good esp on D? No clue. If we get a pick there I'll start to pay attention, but right now I'm only reading about the top of the draft. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 I'm good with another high end defenseman 3. Jakob Chychrun, D, Sarnia (OHL) As the son of a former NHL player, Chychrun has outstanding hockey sense. His size (6-2, 215) and skating ability help him cover a lot of ground. He's the best all-around defenseman in the 2016 draft and would fill an area of need for the Oilers. Quote

Thorner Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 I would love to get lucky in the lottery and have a chance to select him. Would look really good on Eichel's RW. Quote

Crusader1969 Posted January 23, 2016 Author Report Posted January 23, 2016 Not as high on McLeod as I probably should be. I would definitely take Tkachuk. off to watch McLeod and Nylander tonight in Hamilton. Seen them once before and was definitely more impressed with Nylander. Quote
Thorner Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Aren't we exactly on track to take him? Well I'm not sure exactly how the odds are going to work for this year's draft. All 3 top spots are up for grabs, so maybe someone can calculate the odds of us getting a top 2 pick if we were to finish 2nd last. I would guess the odds are less than 50% Edited January 23, 2016 by Thorny Quote
