rumblefish Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Nice job you jackwagons... Now with Toronto next in full give up mode, we could find ourselves only 2 points back of the Coyotes with 5 games left... Can't ever make things easy on ourselves... F@#$!! with total team effort, wouldn't that be Mr. Jackwagons, because they for sure earned it Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Murray can start kissing McDavid goodbye. All this $hit about the fans cheering Arizona at home and Murray thinking about McDavid might have lite a fire under some of these players and coaches saying everyone wants you to lose. What motivation for a team to have. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I know that we say that players won't tank, but those Coyotes players are making me wonder. I thought Gagner was supposed to be fast and talented. Saw him blow two or three opportunities because he looked like he didn't care to catch up with the puck. Somebody lied go you. Gagner is basically post-quad injury Roy. Quote

Meanwhile, Nolan has the players playing better than they have all year. You know he wants to see them finish 29th. He knows he's getting fired so why not stick it to the team for setting him up to fail (not to mention past events)? I honestly can't say I blame him. The whole idea of tanking is bad kharma, as if Buffalo needs any more of that. Edited March 31, 2015 by TheFunPolice Quote
Claude Balls Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Can't wait to listen to Howard Simon have an aneurysm tomorrow after the first anti-tank call of the morning. Should be fun. Quote

Robviously Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Oh good. You are still out on the ledge. I was worried. Definitely the better team won tonight. I'm stoked about the win too. We'll all be celebrating it for the rest of our lives. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I truly envy those who can enjoy watching the team finish 29th and get some sick satisfaction out of it. It wasn't the fans who came up with this plan, it was the owner and GM (Darcy then Murray). "Tankers" are just buying into what the Sabres were selling with "suffering." Two men are happiest tonight: Darcy and Nolan. In fairness, Darcy did say there would be suffering. In hindsight he and his librarian coach were the men for the job this season. Quote
Fire Eater Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 that was so sweet, empty net , put this one in the win column for the good guys Yes!!! Now we can finish in 29th and have something to build on for next year! Won't we all be thrilled when the Sabres finish in 22nd place next year! WOO HOO!!!! Quote

The whole idea of tanking is bad kharma, as if Buffalo needs any more of that. Murray has underestimated Nolan IMO. Maybe ol' Timmay should be fired instead of Ted. They say you can't polish a turd, but Nolan has definitely put a little shine on the log he has to work with. Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 These meaningless win throughout Sabres history is part of the reason why this team can never get over the hump. The loss tonight would have at least sealed us Eichel but no they always want to do $hit the hard way. It's painful being a Buffalo fan. Sometimes I think this city is cursed. Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Ye of little faith. Don't worry, the Sabres suck enough to earn 30th. Quote

Won't we all be thrilled when the Sabres finish in 22nd place next year! WOO HOO!!!! I hear you. No McDavid and No Eichel which means you have Strome or Marner which won't step in next year. Another year of this $hit could happen. This team is bad enough last thing I want to do is watch another year of this crap. At least Eichel or McDavid would bring excitement to watching this team. Claude Balls Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 to love and lost, is always better than to have never loved at all But to love and win is the bottom line and without a top two pick, you are gonna have to love to lose for the forseeable future. Hope you enjoy it. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 When does "Hockey Heaven" start? This is not fun on any level. Quote

TheFunPolice Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) This is FAR worse than losing in the Stanley Cup finals or the Presidents Trophy year... At least for those it was an honest, true fan experience: we were all together rooting for our team to win and they fell short. It sucked but nobody was angry with the team or each other. The Sabres just got beat. No Sabres fans were rooting for them to fail. With this it's constant ugliness, booing players at home, people with all different agendas from fans to players to coaches to management.... And now that it looks very likely to fall apart there is no positive to take from it. It wasn't even a fun run. It was and is just gross. Edited March 31, 2015 by TheFunPolice Quote
Hoss Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 I think it's quite obvious that the Sabres are the better team than Arizona... But four points is still a decent lead. I think this Leafs game will decide a lot... And that's not a good thing. The Leafs will be on the second of back-to-backs. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Any chance Bettman rigs the lotto to make sure Arizona gets McDavid? I'm all for it at this point. Where do I sign? Quote
Hoss Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Can we please stop talking about rigging the damn lottery... It's overseen by an actual company and not just the NHL. Quote

The person running this account seems to be hitting a nerve with you this evening. He/she extends his/her apologies. I'm taking a break from posting until this is all over. I don't like upsetting people. I'm just cranky and filled with the typical doom and gloom that comes with being a Buffalo sports fan. A good question is why it matters so much. carpandean Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) OK, trying to find something to make things feel better. Ask yourself this: what is the chance, now, that the Sabres hold on to 30th? Call that p. If we assume that Edmonton is out (even if they lose all 6 games after going 5-1-2 in their last 8, the Sabres would have to go 6-0-0, 5-1-0, 5-0-1 or 4-0-2 to pass them), then the chance of McEichel is: McE = p + 0.335(1-p) Optimist? p = 0.75 --> McE = 83% Neutral? p = 0.50 --> McE = 67% Pessimist? p = 0.25 --> McE = 50% Edited March 31, 2015 by carpandean Quote

I have been saying that for over a year now. McDavid would put Arizona on the hockey map and fans will fill the seats. Hate to say it but it would be good for the growth of hockey out west. Quote
