DB did not discuss lineup for tomorrow yet

Thanks.  Also, please keep up the good work with relaying tweets and other relevant info.  I don't follow much on twitter and it's good info.  Appreciated.

Robin Lehner in 3 conditioning starts with the #Amerks:

1-2, 3.36 GAA, .888 save (not Dave) %.

He'll be back with the #Sabres Thursday.

Does Ullmark get the net until a loss, or is he back in Rochester tomorrow?

It was one game, so I'm not getting carried away saying this will clearly work, but...*if* Bogosian can play the left side like he did tonight consistently, our D corps looks a lot better:

Bogo-Risto

Gorges-Pysyk

McCabe-Franson

Still not ideal, but better. Time to hope tonight wasn't a flash in the pan.

Is this the first time we've ever seen the 26/15/28 combo that always seemed to make so much sense?

And can anyone ever remember legitimate NHL players turning into bags of overnight in consecutive seasons the way we've seen with Leino, Hodgson and Moulson? Who is going to fall off the face of the eaerth next year?

Hodgson never had a proven track record.  He managed to lead the Sabres in scoring during one of the tank years, but that ain't sayin' much.

Also... How about Staff after he signed his contract?

Certainly not for the same team. It's pretty incredible really. Hopefully the next person to decide to do it isn't signed long term.

Hodgson had consecutive 40 point seasons. Sure he was never a key cog on a good team, but he had a track record of being an NHL player. To go from that to looking like a guy who belongs in beer league is a crazy drop.

Probably wasn't even the same people who recommended each acquisition, but it sure doesn't say much for our pro scouting staff.

We invested $25 million in Moulson, $25.5 million in Hodgson and $27 million in Leino.

We invest a lot of time in the minutiae of Sabre mistakes.

Think about what your boss would be saying about those contracts.

Thankfully only one of those is on the current administration. There were probably signs warning of this but he came back during the tank and is taking Eichel under his wing. If Jack blossoms into his potential, I won't disregard Matt's influence.

Eh. Eichel could've stayed with the Giontas just as easily.

Not sure where to put this but the Panthers just signed Sasha Barkov to a six year 5.9 million dollar deal. Is this what we should be expecting/hoping for Risto?

If we can get Risto long term for only $5.9 million I'll dance 3 jigs on periscope for y'all. THREE! I'm expecting more like $6.5-7.

And if they can lock him up for 8 years at $6.5/yr; to paraphrase Denis Lemieux 'sign him right ####ing now."
