Iron Crotch Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I hope the Sabres win. Just because it'll be fun to watch all the whining on this board if that happens. Meltdowns provide great entertainment. :) Quote
sicknfla Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) Apples and oranges. The state of the Bills was much, much different than the state of the Sabres. I was with you for a long time but at this point we are where we are and the Sabres are past the point of no return. You are right it is apples to oranges and not the best comparison. Kind of a weird day today - you know what is best for the team and yet you still have a sick feeling in your stomach that this is where we are at. On that note go Yotes!! IMO after the Detroit game it was much better than anything we've yet seen here. Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) Both AZ and EDM did us a solid winning their last games. We have a 5 point edge with a game in hand. If we can push both games to OT then the worst we give up is 2 points. We'd be up 3 points with 7 games left. I'd also like to address Tim Graham's article in the BN today. In a nutshell: much ado about nothing. This is not an ethics violation. If it were, then every team that went into a rebuild mode was unethical. Also why is this a story now? Was the tank a state secret for the last two years? God, I wish this season would just end. Edited March 26, 2015 by Promonov Robotnik Quote
Patty16 Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Hackett in net tonight This should make the tankers happy. Quote
smj Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I kind of hope the Sabres finish strong so we don't have to live with the tanking label. Arizona beating Detroit did us a huge favor. I think the team can keep playing all out and still be safe. Hopefully we go into a shoot-out this fist game with both teams playing well because we'd be pretty safe at that point. The only thing that could mess up the final result is if we sweep Arizona. It would be nice if we didn't win this first game just because everyone would be happy and could come together again. Everyone could root for a strong Sabres finish without worrying we won't get McEichel. By the way, I don't consider that the Sabres have tanked. The team appears to have given 100% each night and the GM only made logical trades including getting rid of unsigned players which every team not in the playoffs has done every year. The Sabres fans may have tanked but the team has not. I don't think anyone planned on their mid-year slump which put them into this position. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 26, 2015 Author Report Posted March 26, 2015 Bogo in with Benoit tonight, Strachan out it appears Quote
sabills Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 They're wearing the Turdburgers tonight. How absolutely perfect. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I understand what is at stake in this game. My feelings are well known. Bottom line is that it is just another hockey game. Life will, presumably, go on no matter what happens. It is raining lightly now, but there is a heavy rainfall warning for Halifax. Our roof is holding and the melting has helped, but a heavy rain could spell disaster. Some things are more important, but as always, I hope for a Sabre win. GO SABRES!! Quote

Fire Eater Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 They're wearing the Turdburgers tonight. How absolutely perfect. Can't wait to see them in person. I bet they're much more craptastic live than on TV. Quote
Stads Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 What scenario would frustrate you the most tonight? Mine would be Zac Dalpe scoring in a 1-0 "win" as Hackett gets the shutout while we're out shot 43-14. Quote

Take some tin foil, make it into a cone shape place it on your head. Find a closet in the center of the house, put your self and your device in which you plan on watching the Sabres in said closet, close door. It works for me when maths magors and Aliens from Mars attack, I would think it should work for snow and rain on roofs. Seriously, good luck, and hope you and yours have a safe and peaceful melting over the next few days. May the worst that happens is you forget your umbrella! Spy's have feelings? Quote
qwksndmonster Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I've loved this team since the first skate hit the Aud ice. And while these last few years have been hard to endure, I take a look at the big picture and see better things ahead. I'll be at the game tonight and I will cheer for this team as I always have. But, for the first time ever, I will be just as happy if they lose. LET'S GO BUFFALO Have fun! And welcome to the board. I promise we're not this crazy all the time. Quote

beerme1 Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 "Delicious superiority" - funny. Some of you make that easy. :). As for Lightning stubs - yes the Lightning are a nice option to have when I want to watch real hockey games. What are their message boards like? Quote

In my perfect world, we finish 7-2, led by Grigorenko and Larsson, win the lottery and we all have to apologize to JJ when a teddy gets them off to a 23-14 start next fall. No sarcasm, in case anyone is wondering. Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Bogosian back. Sigh. This could be good, actually. Let him play the first period, then say he aggravated his injury or wasn't ready for full game play and go with 5 D for the rest of the game. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Keep in mind that if Arizona and Edmonton win enough and we clinch the 30th, everyone, tankers or not, can start rooting for the Sabres to win again. It'd be really nice to be able do that. But until then. Quote
beerme1 Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Win or lose hasn't been a game with this much anticipation in some time. I'm expecting it to be the most entertaining game of the season with both sides trying to skate away from the shart. Yotes 5-3 Quote
