bob_sauve28 Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johan_Larsson_(ice_hockey_b._1992) Might be the best part of the Pomminstein deal. And, Oh Yes I Am jumping on the bandwagon after one game against a really putrid Maple Leafs team. Not saying he'll be a superstar but he looks like he can play and score. What do you all think? carpandean Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Hopefully, some day, he'll be centering a third line with Girgensons on his wing. I could see him being "that guy" who gets hot during a playoff run. Quote
bunomatic Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 He looks to me like countless guys that detroit always seems to come up with that play a good two way game. Hopefully he becomes our version. Quote
French Collection Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Building block game for a young player's confidence. I agree that he can be our 3rd line C-LW who can slide up or down a line. Quote
X. Benedict Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Versatile, strong on the puck, good vision, decent hands, nice motor. I think he could take a roster spot next year. Quote
LGR4GM Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 I asked this in another thread but I wanted to bring it up here. Ted Nolan said this the other day: "“Just watching him in practice, you have a sense of what he can do, what he’s capable of doing,” Nolan said. “When he’s moving his feet and he’s engaged, he’s pretty effective. Just like a big guy, when you don’t move your feet you look slow. When you’re a small guy, you don’t move your feet, you look slow, too." http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2015/03/10/larsson-playing-a-larger-role-in-third-stint-with-sabres/ To me that indicates that Ted Nolan views Johan Larsson as a small player and I am wondering how other people around here view the matter. I ask because to me he seems to be about average for an NHL guy. Quote

I ask because to me he seems to be about average for an NHL guy. Was it just me, or did it seem like he went down a lot? Maybe he was just getting a lot of ice time and was tired. And yes, he is average, 200 pounds? Maybe a little small, but he's fast and pretty good in the corners and along the wall--when he isn't knocked down. Quote

dudacek Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 He is down a lot but rarely out. He often seems to skate himself to exhaustion. 6'0" 208? Not big by NHL standards, but not small. In Minny they called him The Bull. Quote
inkman Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Maybe Johan should introduce his friends http://cdn.stureplan.se/imagereportage/48449/standard/Johan%20Larsson%20&%20Ida%20Holm%20med%20v%C3%A4n.jpg Quote

Drunkard Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 I've been a Larsson skeptic to this point but he seems to be improving and I'd be happy to see him earn a spot on the roster next season. I know he's a left handed shot but does anyone know if he's capable of playing right wing instead of left wing if he is not playing center? We are definitely weak when it comes to right wing and there seems to be two schools of thought where some people think switching sides is no big deal where others are somewhat skeptical of that. I've always seen him listed as either C or LW. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 I think the Detroit reference is apt. The guy should slot well into a 3rd line roll, with that ability to play up a line. Quote
dudacek Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Isn't it nice to see one of the kids with a breakout game? To get excited about moving forward again? Who was the last Sabre rookie to have a three-point night? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Ennis, on the same night (?). Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 People just have to be patient the next few years and realize prospects take time to develop. People have already written him off for some reason (grigs says hi) Quote

Who was the last Sabre rookie to have a three-point night? Thanks for that cool drink of water after this endless season on the hot desert sand and nothing to eat but dry, salty crackers. GO SABRES!!! Quote
