cgang Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Is anyone here going to the game tonight? I've decided to take my son on the spur of the moment (I live in DC and figured what the hell... Maybe they sell splits somewhere nearby). Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Any GDT that is centered around beer and not the game is a good GDT....i recall having splits less than 6 months ago I forget if I was at the little bowling alley near Darien Lake or the one in springville, but it's one of those 2 places Could it be that splits are making a comeback? Maybe the Wiki isn't up to date. Edited March 7, 2015 by Neuvichs Perchatka Quote
Taro T Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 I haven't seen them in stores in probably 20 years but I have seen them in the last few years in bars. Great. Now that jingle is stuck in my head. I hate you. Iron City tried using that jingle for a while, but for some reason it just didn't boost sales like they'd hoped. ;) Quote
sicknfla Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Could it be that splits are making a comeback? Maybe the Wiki isn't up to date. According to the Keglers Almanac any bowling alley that sold OV Splits was grandfathered in and will be able to sell Splits until 2020. Strictly a bowling alley only exemption due to the obvious "Splits". I will send the link later. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Matthew Coller @MatthewWGR 5m 5 minutes ago Matt Hackett has been good in Roch lately. 5 straight starts with W or OTL. A .933 save % during that little stretch Quote
Hoss Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Paul Hamilton@pham1717 Nolan said Hackett will start, Larsson is back with 82 and 12, 59 will center 19 and 44. Dalpe is back on 4th line. Strachan might play Quote
Dannepanne Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Who wears 59? I think it's Schaller. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Cool, thanks guys. Seems like we might have a spot for him on the 4th line next year. Quote
Hoss Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Cool, thanks guys. Seems like we might have a spot for him on the 4th line next year. Meh. Probably not. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Strachan in for Zadorov. Ovi taking warmups Quote
Sidc3000 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ovi in. Glad I don't have tickets for tonight's game.... This one should be very painful Paul Hamilton@pham1717 Nolan said Hackett will start, Larsson is back with 82 and 12, 59 will center 19 and 44. Dalpe is back on 4th line. Strachan might play $100 that Ovi scores in the first 5 mins of the game Quote
Claude_Verret Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ov splits..brickbar case on ice. Who's with me? Quote
Hoss Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) Larsson goal good to see. Glencross with his second goal as a Cap. Hackett didn't seem to even try there. Probably thought he'd have more help in front. Edited March 8, 2015 by Tank Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Foligno and Larson, nice! Two players that will be fighting for spots next year Quote
rumblefish Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) OV splits, Strol's Bombers, and Black Horse Ale Ponies, were all bar specials, back in the day I also love Hackett's goalie mask theme Edited March 8, 2015 by rumblefish Quote
rumblefish Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 high energy 1st period, hope they have the legs to keep up the pace Quote
CallawaySabres Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ov splits..brickbar case on ice. Who's with me? Wow, those were the days. I'm pretty sure I bought a pair of boots just to wear to that place because all of the broken glass on the floor Quote
Nitro60 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) This team, even if we want them to tank, are not rolling over and getting blown out. They are playing teams tough and trying to win each game. That aggravates the tank crowd. They are 2 wins short of matching the past 2 seasons (21 wins). I am enjoying this game so far. rumblefish Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 I agree Nitro, it's hard for me to believe that any pro player would tank on purpose, and if I was playing for the Sabres today I would be pissed at anyone who would be questioning my commitment to play to the best of my ability Quote
Nitro60 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Play smart guys. Quit taking the bad penalties. Quote

Coming into this season GMTM and Ted Nolan talked openly about the team learning to play the game the right way regardless of the loosing. Thats why I don't get my nickers in a knot when I see how Ted Nolan slots softies like Cody Hodgson onto the fourth line. Earn your icetime. Nothing will be handed to you. That was the way of Regiers teams. Not Murrays. Quote
