Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 The Sabres complete the second half of their back to back nation capitals trip where they take on Ovi and the Capitals. Washington currently holds the first wild card slot in the East. Quote
Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) He is listed as day to day with a LBI. Trotz should have an update after the morning skate. Edited March 7, 2015 by BRAWNDO Quote
French Collection Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Old Vienna, I like that. Drank a few of those beers back in the 80's, don't even know if they still make it. I think the Caps can handle the Sabres with or without Ovie. His absence may give the boys hope and keep the score close. Makarov may start due to Charles Lindbergh playing last night. OV is still around making delicious cheap splits at almost any bowling alley or dive bar. Kind of like my ex.... Quote
Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 Per Trotz, there will be a temptation to sit him the Sabres and play him next game against the Rangers. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capitals-insider/wp/2015/03/06/injury-report-ovechkin-still-feeling-pain-questionable-for-saturday/ Quote

Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Where the hell are you still getting 7oz bottles of OV?There are a few places in the southtowns, a bowling alley down here has specials on buckets of OV splits for like 5 bucks. I've seen it elsewhere, it's becoming a rare breed tho Quote
Brawndo Posted March 7, 2015 Author Report Posted March 7, 2015 No morning skate for the Sabres today Quote

Andrew Amerk Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 No morning skate for the Sabres today That's because they had a decent night scrimmage yesterday. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 I would imagine so, considering they don't make splits anymore. Well, then apparently I've recently consumed some very very stale alcohol Quote
Claude Balls Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 I haven't seen buckets of OV splits since the Penny Arcade days back in the early 90s. I think they came with a bag of coke as well. As for the Sabres tonight....I don't think they have a chance in this one. Think it may be the first non competitive game they've had in a while. With that being said, they will most likely win. Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 I also assumed when I went to the Nashville game that it would be a total blowout.... First place vs Last, but the Sabres rallied to a "thrilling" 2-1 SO loss. Therfore I cannot assume they will lose anything. Quote
darksabre Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Well, then apparently I've recently consumed some very very stale alcohol I'm legitimately curious. I can go to the store right now and buy 12oz bottles and cans, but I have never seen fresh 7oz splits. I've been looking for years and everything I find tells me they stopped making them almost two decades ago. Quote

Lindback's Save Percentage has actually improved with the Sabres  Quote
darksabre Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Lindback's Save Percentage has actually improved with the Sabres  I don't think he's even looked that bad. He's just a big goalie who needs someone to coach him to consistency. Actually he's the epitome of Tim Murray goalie. Quote

You can't spell love without OV. Great. Now that jingle is stuck in my head. I hate you. Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Well, then apparently I've recently consumed some very very stale alcohol Per Wiki, "For a time in the 1970s and 80s OV was available in 7 oz. bottles called OV Splits." Stale indeed. Quote

Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 7, 2015 Report Posted March 7, 2015 Any GDT that is centered around beer and not the game is a good GDT....i recall having splits less than 6 months ago I forget if I was at the little bowling alley near Darien Lake or the one in springville, but it's one of those 2 places Quote
