LGR4GM Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 lol I knew the board would be losing its mind today but :w00t: this is amazingly hilarious. Quote
Derrico Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Did we really think Stewart had that much value to begin with? Wasn't he basically a cap dump by the Blues last year? I know he does more than just score but guy hasn't potted more than 18 goals in six straight years now. I think he's worth more than a 4th but it not like we're trading Vanek or Pommer. Quote
Hoss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Hey now, you can't potentially freak out about not offloading the UFAs and simultaneously be annoyed at the return. Pick a side! :P Actually I can. The phrasing shows that Murray missed the boat here. I would give them all away for a seventh, but it shouldn't have come to this. I thought Stewart's value was way lower than what everybody said to begin with, but I was thinking a second plus another mediocre piece would've been the final price. WildCard Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 If he trades Stewart for that its for 30th in the standings Quote

I think the stress has finally gotten to you. Apparently the asking price for Stewart was a 2nd and a prospect...if you thought his value was "way lower"...that brings us to what it looks like we may get for him, a 3rd or 4th. Quote
Hoss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 You do realize that Murray lunched the boat with the Kane/Bogo trade right? This is a marina. More than one boat. TSN just categorized the Kane deal as a "problem swap" instead of a hockey trade... Quote
LGR4GM Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 This is a marina. More than one boat. TSN just categorized the Kane deal as a "problem swap" instead of a hockey trade... That's nice, it was a hockey trade. Quote
Hoss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 That's nice, it was a hockey trade. I agree. I just thought it was a little ridiculous. They put it in there with the Clarkson deal. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 A lot of moves were made before today. The Leafs could be interesting. I really want Neuvirth out of here. Get rid of Stewart as well, that should be enough for 29th. Giving us a 33% chance at McE Quote
3putt Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Unless a miracle happens I just don't see any of our UFA's fetch anything of major value. At this point I don't trade Stewart for a 4th as I would rather them sign him. Why would you overpay for a guy that was in the coaches doghouse and has been on the down swing since Colorado days? Why would you sign him then? What I glean from this is that the crap on this roster is non marketable to any real team. Yet people on here want to sign these turds to long term deals to flesh out the lineup. Curious to say the least. Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Wgr shouldn't even think about talking with Murray he needs to be working those phones and get these UFA's outta here. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Pretty sure Kevin Sylvester's reading this thread on-air. Quote

Maybe GMTM was holding out for a 2nd knowing that was a stretch. If his real worth was a 4th to begin with, we're only losing value to an unrealistic expectation, not reality. We'll get the 4th later on today. Quote
Doohicksie Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 They will just play not to get injured, stick up for team mates, but have no reason to play to win. A team with the Hodgson mentality. CoHo sticks up for teammates? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 I want to be reassured that GM TM didn't fall victim to the old saw about how "pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered." Quote

A 4th rounder probaby won't be playing in the NHL and even if he does it will be years away. Lets face it folks this team really doesn't need more picks but players that can play at the NHL level. If Murray is all about finishing 30th then he unloads all UFA's for next to nothing. Quote
LGR4GM Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 You can't make this stuff up, amirite? In the last 24hours I have witnessed ppl call for Murray's firing and separately to trade Sam Reinhart Quote

Or maybe it's market manipulation by GMTM: "Chris, I know you can be a big part of the team but apparently the league doesn't think you're worth more than a 4th. So how 'bout you accept this very fair (low-ball) offer?" Quote
Hoss Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Sounds like MTL and BUF working on depth deal. MTL closing in on Brian Flynn. If finalized, it's for a draft pick. #TradeCentre Quote
woods-racer Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 CoHo sticks up for teammates? Once. I think he made sure the opposing teams goalie didn't get into the scrum. But that will be the mentality. Quote

I think Stewart would be alright next to a good center like Reinhart. Quote
