Sekac was looking great for Montreal. Weird trade. Edited by d4rkovic sabrekov

He had been a healthy scratch recently so many expected a deal but this? Hmm.

Also; maybe time to pin this?

Sekera deal sees LA Kings 1st rounder (unknown year) and Rolan McKeown heading the other way.  McKeown (RHD) is a former 2014 2nd round pick (#50 overall).

So much for 1st rounders not being in play. That's a heavy haul, though I guess it could be next year's first.

Friedman just tweeted there's a condition on it: this year's 1st if LA makes the playoffs, next year's if they miss.

We see it again and again: minute munching veteran defensemen are worth a helluva lot in this league.

It's supply and demand. There just ain't many of them.

Who would you rather have: McKeown and some guy like Travis Konecny, or JT. Compher and Jamie McBain?

Thanks for reminding me how much I hated that trade.

That's quite a return for Reggie.

The Kings are a Tim Murray wet dream now. Loads of grit up front and a mobile defense. One hundred percent intended to just hold the puck in the offensive zone and never let it out.

Yeah if only our defense had even had a single player of theirs we would have done so much better last few years :(
