TrueBlueGED Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 They will need a goaltender next year. Do you want that to be Lindback or Hackett? All aboard the Antti Niemi bandwagon! :) Quote
Norcal Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Enroth was gone anyways, good luck in Dallas bud. Next... Quote
Stoner Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 All aboard the Antti Niemi bandwagon! :) No. I'm Anti Niemi. Quote
Kelly the Dog Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 The only thing that could derail the tank is Enroth getting hot like he does, and did earlier this year. Great move for the tank. He has proven to me at least he will never be more than a backup. Good backup. But we need him out for the tank to be completed in an efficient manner. Quote
WildCard Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb0VQTMKNR8 !!! Easily my favorite moment in SP. I feel like this has never been more relevant than now Quote
pastajoe Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 The goalie of the future isn't on the team. Most likely a trade at the draft. Quote
PotentPowerPlay22 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Lindbäck and a third. Yeesh. Enroth was worth more than that, no? What the heck is Murray doing? Maybe he has a master plan, but I don't understand it. If you add up all the 1st and 2nd round players and picks he has discarded via trade over his tenure it is staggering. Myers (1st), Stafford (1st), Armia (1st), 2015 1st round pick, Lemieux (top pick in 2nd), 2-2nd round picks to LA, Enroth (2nd). Just on these three deals he has traded (4) 1st round picks and (4) 2nd round picks! He is really spending like crazy and I don't believe he is receiving fair value. Murray has a lot to prove and he is scaring the crap out of me. Quote
ROC Sabres Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Neither of these trades are completely about GMTM's prefernce for large goalies or wingers. They are mostly about GMTM's preference for McEichel. I think your avatar needs an update after today..... well, so does mine. Quote
WildCard Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) They will need a goaltender next year. Do you want that to be Lindback or Hackett? GUYS GUYS GUYS CHILL WE STILL HAVE MICHEAL NEUVIRTH F U C A L E ! ! I'm with NS, trade for either Fucale or, and the guy I really wanna get now, Malcolm Subban. What do we have to do to pry Subban out of Boston? Stewart + St.Louis/NYI 1st + ? Edited February 11, 2015 by WildCard Quote
Stoner Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 GMTM says the Sabres "might be back in that picture" when Enroth hits the free agent market this summer. Quote
Hoss Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 If Enroth wins 4 playoff games the Sabres get a 2nd according to WGR just now. Otherwise a 3rd. Nice avatar. ;) Quote

darksabre Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 This gives me a sad. GMTM says the Sabres "might be back in that picture" when Enroth hits the free agent market this summer. A good will trade? Interesting. Quote

In GMTM you must trust! Quote
Nitro60 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Murray can spin this all he wants. It is the talent fire sale starting early. I thought Enroth was the goalie of the future. He is dumping talent albeit a majority drafted by Darcy. If they win 5 games the rest of the season, I will be surprised. The games will be unwatchable. Quote
Drunkard Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 I'm going to miss Enroth, I always like that kid. Kid? Isn't he the same age you are? Quote
woods-racer Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Looking at a player by where he was drafted isn't a very good way to determine his value in a trade. Looking at the team filled with those first rounders and finishing DFL, may be a better way to judge their successes. Quote

Cereal Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Enroth didnt have a contract for next year free agents next year: Enroth, Neuvirth, Niemi, Fasth, Ramo. Or better yet, trade for a young goalie who could actually be the goal tender of the future, as it wasnt enroth I suspect that GMTM will not be going big on a UFA or proven goalie this offseason, based on the fact that the Sabres won't be competitive next season. Might he take a flyer on one of those you listed? Which can be had for a one-year deal? As others have mentioned, it is possible he goes for a big trade for a youngin' like Fucale or Subban. I wonder what kind of prospects there are in the first few rounds of this year's draft? I think there might be a thread on that somewhere. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Maybe Irbe will get some playing time. Nolan did say if players start putting out they'd be traded...... Quote
Kr632 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 So we have Lieuwen with head issues, Hackett with a bad knee and Neuvirth who gets hurt Eating breakfast. Paging Mr. Vinz.......... this is great! Quote
