pi2000 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 anybody listenting to the WPG radio guys? they're drooling over Stafford, lol
Sam Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) I believe Kane will be a rejuvinated player come next season. He hasn't wanted to be in Winnipeg since the Thrashers moved there, and a lot of the stories we hear is simply Kane being made a scapegoat by the Winnipeg media. Think he'll have a lot of you surprised. PLUS, Myers has a NMC/NTC that kicks in next season... Edited February 11, 2015 by Sam
WildCard Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 My biggest concern with Kane is his injury history. There was some talk that he was faking the injuries he had this year because he didn't want to play there this year, if that's true that's a double edged sword for us
... Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 From an NHL perspective, Kane and Bogosian clearly beats Stafford and Myers, the question is, did we give up too much potential to make that upgrade? I think we may have. That said, Kane Reinhart Ennis might be fun to watch. Biggest trade since Mogilny, maybe even since Turgeon/Lafontaine. The culture change from Regier is complete. GMTM just put his stamp on the team. Ennis is the only player of any significance left that you'll call Darcy's Good post. I think this also telegraphs that Nolan is going to be here for at least the beginning of next season. You don't grab a player like Kane, with his overhead, and not have someone here who can exercise his demons. Again, what makes this an overpayment to me is the first. A lot of people seem to think Lemieux was too much to give up...eh, I think the first was more valuable.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Gave up a LOT here. Received a lot, too.
Rasmus_ Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 anybody listenting to the WPG radio guys? they're drooling over Stafford, lol Enjoy the suck. #ThatsAll
JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 this! At least I have the Panthers. Murray you let me down, this is a terrible trade!
MattPie Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 I assume 11 will chime in when he's done doing his happy dance. Seems like a little more than what I'd have given up, but we'll see. It's a big gamble almost solely based on if Kane hated the team in Winnipeg or hates being on a team.
JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 this! At least I have the Panthers. Murray you let me down, this is a terrible trade! Nothing like trading half your team for an unproven locker room cancer.

sabills Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Absolutely hate this trade. Not high on Kane at all AND he is damaged goods. Sabres gave up WAY too much. Maybe Murray thought he was trading for Pat Kane? Kane's numbers are on par with some of the best players in the league. The guy scores, skates, drives to the net, and fights when he needs to. What's not to like on him? Off the ice attitude? wah.
nucci Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 ###### this! At least I have the Panthers. Murray you let me down, this is a terrible trade! so you just switch teams whenever you feel like it?

None of those players were his, and he seems pretty intent on cleaning the cupboards

... Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 The 1st was a late 1st......I think it was going to be part of a trade anyway. Sure, but not this. This is too much of a package in one direction. I'm not sold on Kane.
apuszczalowski Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Think the Jets flip Myers to Detroit or Anaheim now?
Sam Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Feelings would change if Kane miraculously recovers in time for the end of the season, which I could see happening.
CallawaySabres Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Nobody knows shiit about this trade until Lemieux grows after a few years. Myers and Armia were pieces no matter what so how exactly do we lose right now?
LabattBlue Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 So we get a head case and a defensive defenseman who can't stay healthy for that package? WOW.

Think he'll have a lot of you surprised. PLUS, Myers has a NMC that kicks in next season... He'll love playing on a thinned-out, talentless team next year. I am already surprised. Now that Myers and Stafford are gone, Hodgson is the only whipping boy left. Who should we adopt to fill this new role?
nucci Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Sure, but not this. This is too much of a package in one direction. I'm not sold on Kane. understood....
Sam Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Think the Jets flip Myers to Detroit or Anaheim now? No. That's their D-core sorted for the forseeable future, now.
sicknfla Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Like most major trades we cannot judge it today. Have to give it two years. That said today it feels like I got punched in the balls.
JJFIVEOH Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 so you just switch teams whenever you feel like it? That's the benefit of having a home team.
