Doohicksie
I really like what they did with Sabretooth. Now the mascot truly represents the team.
Iron Crotch
I'm 44 season ticket holder get teary eyed when I see highlight vidoes of '99 Love this city more than life itself and yet, here I sit emotionless with this season. It will soon be over and at this point, it has to be done. It sucks and it better pay off. I am guessing very few of the folks who are happy that we've semi-intentionally fielded one of the worst teams in the history of the NHL are season ticket holder. The large monetary investment tends to change perspective.
Doohicksie
Anybody else see the comedic value in the fact that the Sabres could tie the NHL record for most consecutive losses at home against Lindy? Maybe I should go to that game, wear my Sabres jersey and fashion a tank out of styrofoam to wear as a hat (a la Cheeseheads). Let me guess, you're a twenty-something as well. You guys don't know sh!t. You're right, I must be an ignorant ###### because I don't get senior citizen discounts. Or is it that I haven't been around 40 years to be a true fan? The inevitable intra-squad squabbling begins...

bunomatic
I'll be considered an old goon in a few days ( 50 ) so I've been through the trenches with this team and the rest of you old goons but what we're all living through right now is kind of unprecedented in terms of suckitude so I'll say it now that the young guys and the old guys walk through this fire together, a band of brothers, team mates. We'll all carry the scars of this season and be the better for it. No pain no gain as they say. No fan young or old is better or worse regardless of experience or lack thereof. Book it. We're all fans of the Sabres.

We're all fans of the Sabres. This has to be a tough time for anyone who has a kid though. I was lucky enough to be indoctrinated by the radio and RJ in the late 90s. I was lucky to see the successes of the 05-06 team. That's what my fanhood is based on. I was 12 when the Sabres went to the Cup in '99. I don't know if I'd have been drawn to the sport without that. So what about the kids right now growing up with a Sabres team that really hasn't been interesting in like five years? That's a whole group of kids growing up as fans of other teams. That sucks. There's a kid I see skating. Always wore a Sabres jersey. Now? Columbus. Columbus! I am hoping he got it for Christmas from some relative in Ohio and had to wear it once or something. Hoss
There's a kid I see skating. Always wore a Sabres jersey. Now? Columbus. Columbus! I am hoping he got it for Christmas from some relative in Ohio and had to wear it once or something. How old does he appear? When I was a little one I asked for jerseys from many teams despite being a fan of the Sabres/Bills/Knicks. Always wanted Paul Kariya's jerseys, Brett Favre, Curtis Martin (yuck, I actually wore a Jets jersey once despite never liking the team), Vince Carter. Yeah that is true. I can't imagine being 7 or 8 now and becoming a Sabres fan without some fatherly brainwashing or prodding to get it started. I'd become a fan of a team that was fun to root for just like I did watching the french connection back in the day. Good teams are easier to fall in love with for sure. I do feel bad for the kids. But there will be a generation that fall in love with this team when this is over. Edited February 1, 2015 by bunomatic

Jsixspd
No, actually. Stewart's first goal was a nice rebound collection in front, and the second one was a pass that went off a Canucks d-man and in. Thanks for the report - I'll give the game a quick watch when I get home.
