sicknfla Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 Last I saw there where 1700 flights cancelled along the east coast due to the storm. He probably got caught up in that. GMTM just can't say "O'well there little Buckaroo, see you when you can get here". He's suspended because there should be no excuse for missing practice. My 2 cents anyway... Flights being cancelled due to a storm is no different than Kaleta being stuck in a snowstorm. If you don't suspend Kaleta because of mother nature then you shouldn't suspend Zadarov. Quote
3putt Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 Kaleta, like others were cut off from the rest of the city. He was at home. What was he supposed to do sleep in the training room? Zad taking a few days in the sun is different in that he could have given himself some leeway to not cut it close. Message sent by GMTM. Hopefully it is received. Quote

I think we are assuming this was the message. The message should be this guy was given no slack for a reason. That should be concerning. Quote

... Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 You kind of lost me. If a flight was cancelled, what are we blaming him for? Cutting it too close? I think that would be it. So, instead of booking a flight back Sunday evening, he should have booked a flight back Friday. Just to give himself some padding in case of issues. Quote

It's been on the news for 2 days prior that this storm will shut down the east coast, make the effort to make sure you get to work on time. We all do it, you leave a little early, or the boss makes sure you know he doesn't like your effort. Kaleta was a whole different story, if they needed him, he would have got there. They mutually agreed for him to stay home is what I remember. Edited January 26, 2015 by Woods-Racer Quote
pastajoe Posted January 26, 2015 Report Posted January 26, 2015 No big deal, probable travel mix up. Gives the Sabres a legit reason to hopefully sit him vs Oilers to help the tank. Quote

Roughly 650 players in the league. Not sure exactly how many but I am guessing less than 5 were suspended by their team this year - for whatever reason. The guy is one of the players we are counting on post tank. I think to me it is a big deal because I am just so fed up with this shitshow. One thing after another. Quote
Hoss Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 According to Hoppe Zadorov's flight from the Dominican Republic was oversold so he had to take a later flight. He'll be back in Buffalo soon. Quote
LGR4GM Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 He just had a week off. He couldn't manage to get back in time. This isn't missing a meeting because the alarm didn't go off. If he went back to Russia he may have flown Buffalo to NYC and it's possible he can't get back in. Either way, I am not really worried that a 19yr old kid is irresponsible. Everyone can't be Zemgus and Samson. He will be fine. I think Murray is doing it for a roster spot and also to let Zadorov know he screwed the pooch a bit. According to Hoppe Zadorov's flight from the Dominican Republic was oversold so he had to take a later flight. He'll be back in Buffalo soon. And there ya go. Complete none starter. Zadorov learned he should fly home a day earlier. Moving on. Quote

bunomatic Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Zads is everything you want in a young D. His personality type ( fun lovin ) unfortunately will sometimes lead to this type of incident. Its not as bad as some would have you believe. For gods sake don't give up on this kid. Look how that worked out for the Bruins in giving up on Seguin. Quote

Look how that worked out for the Bruins in giving up on Seguin. I don't think anybody is giving up on the kid but bottom line he wasn't and probably still isn't ready for life in the NHL. In the last 5 months he has been disciplined for being overweight and now for vacation issues. He will most likely end up being fine but I think it just shows that some of these guys are still just kids. It is an unbelievable amount of responsibility they have on their shoulders. Quote
Brawndo Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Something to think about with Zads. If it wasn't for the CHL/KHL Agreement he would be playing for London this year. He has shown flashes of being a very capable NHL D Man, but he has also demonstrated the mistakes you would expect from a 19 year old. Quote
darksabre Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Everyone's just butt hurt that they didn't get to take a vacation to the Dominican Republic. Quote

Exactly right, but only this bolded part. Wherever he plays, he'll mature off ice as he plays, regardless of whether he plays in the AHL or NHL. He'll encounter adversity, overcome it, and he'll likely be better for it. He learned a lesson about conditioning and addressed it. He's learned a lesson about time management(?) and I expect, after a talk with the bosses, he'll learn from that too. I'm only concerning myself about which league he plays in based on his level of play and whether or not the league is good for the development of his game. Either that or they don't get to go on any vacations with her. http://nhlhockeywags.tumblr.com/post/93311739504 But that right there is a pretty good reason to miss practice. Jsixspd Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 At -11, he has the 2nd best plus-minus of all the Sabres' D-men (at least those who've played more than a dozen games this season). Soooo, it may help the Tank to suspend him for a few games. At least that's a positive we could take away from this. Quote
