Wyldnwoody44 Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 Will we refer to him as Woody? I staked that claim first ;) Quote
sabills Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 I'm so thankful that my parents had the decency to give me a name that was different but also not stupid. They gave me an important sounding name. My name requires me to live up to it. You think your name is tough to live up to. Going through the wife's family on ancestry.com and came acrossed a "Christ Gillmeister". Now THERE's a higher standard. Quote

That Aud Smell Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 Of course. It's like being the boy named Sue. Innit? (Ha.) Quote
pi2000 Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 G Daniel Vladar The 2nd ranked international goalie prospect stands over 6'5 with a 0.931 SV% in the Czech league and he won't turn 18 until August. Quote
bcsaberks Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 This is a really interesting article... but I am completely lost as to why you posted it in this particular thread lol. Doh. I noticed the goalie prospects (including Mack-daddy) are almost all lefties. That drove me to this article from a while back sorta explaining the bias in the NHL (featuring Vokoun), then somehow I got to the one in Boston about shooters. Interneting. Quote

I am Defecting Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 Is ping-pong good training for goalies? Quote
dudacek Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 You know he'll go by Darth. I know nothing about this kid except that post and I already desperately want him. Some. Fun. Hockey. Please. Quote
French Collection Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 Mack Black. I've seen him play about a half dozen times, not outstanding but pretty good for an 18 year old. He was chased from the playoffs last year, but again, he was only 17 then. Our scouts have probably seen him a lot due to bring on Lemieux's team. He's from Thunder Bay which produced the Staal's and Patrick Sharp. These guys are tough to project at 18. Here are some Canadian world junior goalies have had good tournaments but not much success in the NHL: Jimmy Waite, Jamie Storr, Maxime Ouellette, Justin Pogge. Black wood isn't even on World Junior radar either. Quote
ubkev Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 He's from Thunder Bay which produced the Staal's and Patrick Sharp. And Carl Racki! Quote
French Collection Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 You got me, I had to google Racki. Saw Youngblood but didn't remember that name. He's not that tough if Rob Lowe beat him up! Lee Fogolin Sr. was from Thunder Bay, tough player from the 50s. Quote

Byebye Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 I guess since we're doing it, Ryan Pilon! I hope he goes to philly so we can see girgensons undress him in the orange jerseys Quote
Kristian Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 Even if it is a girl, if she's got the NHL skills I'd draft her. Maybe that's what it'll take for this team to finally stand up for a goalie? You got me, I had to google Racki. Saw Youngblood but didn't remember that name. He's not that tough if Rob Lowe beat him up! Lee Fogolin Sr. was from Thunder Bay, tough player from the 50s. Racki was clearly battling some undisclosed injury. Quote

Racki was clearly battling some undisclosed injury. The problem is that Racki didn't have a half blind older brother to train with in a barn for a montage. If Racki had had a montage he might have won. Edited January 22, 2015 by d4rksabre Quote
josie Posted January 22, 2015 Report Posted January 22, 2015 a comic i follow on twitter (jenny johnson) had the following line/tweet last night: Are you fu*#ing kidding me?" - nurses in the maternity ward at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles when parents reveal their baby's name I came across this awful buzzfeed list. http://www.buzzfeed.com/morganshanahan/21-hipster-baby-names-that-take-it-up-a-notch While the list itself is stupid, the comments are what had me wanting to cry. I guess these are the hippy names of my generation. Let's make a modern baby name generator- slot one, names of 20th century inventors/scientists/tech references. Slot two, superhero (male or female, or let your kid choose!) Tesla Thor! Buzz Voltron! (buzzfeed and buzz aldrin yay) Edison Hulk! God. At least it's not Mackenzee or something. Actually, I think I'd want Buzz Voltron (last name here) on my hockey team. Quote
