Had to wear a Pats jersey at work today. Lost a friendly bet. Fortunately, it was a Randy Moss one.

The other guy better have been offering up something like sex with his wife in order to balance out the odds a bit.

The war for clicks took an ugly turn tonight. Reports were running rampant that Rams WR Stedman Bailey got shot in the head...

NFL's Mike Silver decided this would be appropriate to tweet while so many were begging for a legitimate source:

I will have news on Rams WR Stedman Bailey posting momentarily on http://NFL.com

Seriously? Just say it. People are wondering if he's alive or dead or whatever... And you post some click bait? .

Anyways, Bailey got shot in the head but the wound is considered to be non-life threatening.

How soon we forget.

Live look in at Swamp

The situations aren't even remotely similar. Verified Twitter account... Anonymous message board.

Teasing information with a link... Providing all the info available in a place where clicks don't matter.

Somebody got shot in the head... Somebody may have committed a nasty crime.

It's a funny retort but it falls short of what you wished it meant.

But I'm glad you decided to go this route to call out a poster instead of allowing there to possibly be a conversation about something they felt was worth addressing (because we all know where this will go from here).

Yep. Just about what I expected.

You're right, no similarities at all. My bad.

I disagree. The corner or safety, whichever was on the cover was right there. They let up after they hear the whistle. If not they could easily make that tackle.

It was Darby and he was ready to crush him.

Wow.  Back page of the last section of today's WSJ has an excerpt from Concussion.  Tagliabue got a bunch of doctors to try to pressure a medical journal to retract the very first CTE-NFL study.  Insipid.  And I can't believe that the doctors went along with it.  Just horrible human beings.

Doctors are people too.  All of our souls have a price.

My employer low balled mine and I still signed on.

Bills brought back Marcus Thigpen and cut Denarious Moore and Boom Herron.

The "doctors are people too" has the opposite meaning for me here. These are people's lives. I'm sick of money trumping life.

So am I.  But I think the observation is more true than any one of us really wants to admit about ourselves.

Our doctors should be paid handsomely. Many are, but it should be "all are." But I also hope those who go into the profession aren't doing it because of the money.

(I say this with the understanding that I will likely never work in a position where many of my decisions risk lives and an appreciation for those able to work under such circumstances)

Being a doctor is a thankless and job. At least according to my friends who are doctors.

What job isn't thankless, really?

Relative to saving people's lives, I think doctor takes the cake for the severity of thanklessness

My dad gets stopped by people all the time who are thrilled to see him.  They usually excitedly introduce their family to Doctor Sandmonster.  On Sunday I got aggressively hugged by a nurse that I never met just because she liked my dad so much.

Maybe my dad is just the best guy ever, I dunno.  Maybe Woody will share his experiences.
