That Aud Smell Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Denver and Cleveland trying to finalize a trade of Joe Thomas to Denver along with a 4th for a 1st and a 2nd, per ESPN. Man. They are going for it. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted November 3, 2015 Report Posted November 3, 2015 Deal didn't get done in time. Man, that sucks. Denver desperately needed it. Quote

Kidding on that. Did find it funny Detroit came in at number 2. Who'd have thought? Edited November 4, 2015 by Thanes16 Quote

I know that when I went to see the Bills play in Houston we (the Bills fans who traveled to the game) drank several bars dry. Quote

Wyldnwoody44 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 We suck, and it's cold out..... Alcohol turns from a social leisure activity to a necessity. Good on us!! Quote
Hoss Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 So the Lions fired their President and GM today. They'll probably fire Caldwell after the season... And Ian Rapoport said Matthew Stafford's future in Detroit could be in question. Would you pursue Stafford? What would you pay? To me, it's a no-brainer yes. He'll be wanted by every team that doesn't have a QB, though: San Francisco, Houston, Cleveland, NYJ, Washington, Chicago. I would be willing to give a lot for him. Considering the competition and caliber it would probably take a first. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 If you had asked me about Stafford 3 years ago, 100% yes, do whatever it takes. Today? I'm barely interested. From everything I've read all of his weaknesses are still there and even his strengths aren't nearly as evident. Different head coaches, different coordinators, different players, and yet that offense almost always disappoints. The sum of his game always seems to be less than the tools would indicate it should be. I'm honestly not sure he's much of an upgrade on Taylor, particularly of you consider the value of his contract. Quote
Hoss Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 A report also states the Buffalo Bills have contacted Paxton Lynch's high school football coach with questions about him: http://www.scout.com/nfl/bills/story/1608037-bills-inquired-about-qb-paxton-lynch I LOVE this kid. He's got the name, he's got the look and, most importantly, he's got the skillset. Likely going to need to make a big time trade up to make it happen, though. Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 So, I don't hate the red jersey itself. But that red-on-red look is brutal. Quote

I have no opinion on the player but I'm thinking you could write a blog stating the Bills, and every other team for that matter, contacted the high school coach of every top 200 prospect and the only ones you would be wrong on are the prospects were the high school coach is dead. Maybe. The report was that three specific teams (Denver, Buffalo, Houston) reached out to the coach. Quote
WildCard Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Some ugly ass jerseys right there Quote
shrader Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Some ugly ass jerseys right there The jerseys would be fine except for the fact that they're not the Buffalo Bills. Put them on some random team and they're fine (minus the red pants.... wait, that makes it sound like I want pantsless players out there and that's definitely not the case) Quote
That Aud Smell Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) There will be many suitors for Stafford. I'm concerned that the current regime's system would deem him not a fit. I feel like that happens in the NFL -- talent gets passed up or moved on because of a poor fit. (Edit: And it drives me nuts. To me, it oughta be talent first, system second.) That said: The current system should not discourage them for taking a swing at getting the guy. He still has a lot of wear on the tread and, I believe, can still be a franchise, top-10 QB. Those do not grow on trees. Shoot. They barely grow in the power college conferences anymore. My bet: He goes to the Jets. One other thing: I like the red jerseys. The red-on-red, though, is the worst. Edited November 6, 2015 by That Aud Smell Quote
Hoss Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 I agree wholeheartedly, Aud. Even with your Jets comment (told a coworker yesterday I can picture him in a Jets jersey now). If he's actually moved, which I always doubt when it comes to quality QBs, the Bills better be on the phone. If not they've failed again. Quote

Hoss Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 I'm sure the Bills had absolutely zero say in those jerseys, for the record. This was probably all Nike and NFL. "Here, wear these." Quote

My sense is that this is the sort of big ticket item that, if Terry Pegula were so inclined (i.e., thought it was a good idea), he would direct his people to do what they can to make it happen. #readyforthemeddlingcomments I'm also just feeling the Jets on this. (I wonder if Tampa is bummed they can't bring him home.) I'm sure the Bills had absolutely zero say in those jerseys, for the record. This was probably all Nike and NFL. "Here, wear these."
