Buffalo Bills 2015

They met the best game plan in NFL history on a few extra days of preparation in Week 2.

I'm not so sure you would have gone with the hyperbole of "the best game plan in NFL history" though. ;)

I don't feel that's hyperbole. The Patriots are the best gameplanning team in history, in my opinion.

So who has a better game plan than the team who is universally praised for their week-to-week game plan?

I'm not sure if it's the game plan as much as its Brady's ability to read defenses coupled with his remarkable accuracy. He makes it look easy but it obviously isn't. One if the first quotes ever attributed to Belichek when announcing that Brady would continue to start when Bledsoe returned was how fast he processed the information before him.

T-web provides needed insight here.

The game plans are obviously a big part of the Patriots' success. Execution is a bigger part of it. And no one executes quite like #12. The guy is an absolute phenom at processing information, reacting on a split-second basis, and then having the physical, mental, and emotional skills needed to make the play. Honest to God. I couldn't even get mad on Sunday. I was mostly just in awe.

I know you guys have this hate crush on me

It's probably just a semantics things but if that whole thing read as "game planning" as opposed to "game plan" I never would have said a word.  I see "game plan" and it reads like you're saying that this specific game was the greatest planned game in the history of mankind.  So yeah, I would find a statement like that to be absurd.  Then again, I don't know how one can ever go about proving or disproving that something is the "greatest of all time", especially a game plan.

Right. It's an opinion so it's hard to disprove. But calling it hyperbole is way off because I didn't intend it as such. Nor is it an unreasonable statement.

I was referring to the entire Patriots history under Belichick as their "game plan." I can see how you would read it a different way, though.

Correct. But the idea behind a great game plan is to put one in place your pieces can execute. A game plan isn't good if you don't have the pieces to execute.

A game plan is a plan drawn up for a game. An individual game. It confuses the matter to refer to a team's entire history under a long-tenured coach as a game plan. Belichick's and Brady's game plans, and approaches to their games have varied pretty widely over the course of their run together.

Execution > Game Planning.

Jim Kelly's Bills would tell you that.

This is how I felt as well.  D4rk said it best a while back: Tom Brady can bend time and space.

OK -- time to chill out.

I'm feeling chill. Thank you for your concern.

Banhammer incoming

Wouldn't that be something, huh? Moderating the language of one or a few but not others because the way you feel about them is totally a good way of doing things.

It's also hilarious that somebody would feel comfortable whining about having to be "politically correct" but then wanting to eliminate any form of disagreement or argument from an individual's side.

It's almost impressive. Mostly lame, though.

Sure. Your point?

My point was a rebuttal to this statement:

They met the best game plan in NFL history on a few extra days of preparation in Week 2.

I don't think that the Bills met, or any of the Pats' victims so much meet, the best game plans in NFL history,* as they met/meet one of the very best -- I think possibly *the* best -- executor (executioner?) to have played the QB position in the game's history.

If you gave that game plan to Garapalo [sic], or, shucks, any number of other starting QBs in the league (including good ones), the result would not be the same.

*And, as stated, I also think "game plans" are not a team's multi-year history, but are instead individual concepts (assignments, formations, routes, diagrams, lingo) that are developed on a weekly basis (and, yes, proceed from certain core principles or philosophies (which themselves evolve and are malleable within a season)).

OK -- time to chill out adopt a more civil tone.

Fair interpretation?

I've given you several mulligans. I stood up for you when were banned. And I don't think this exchange comes anywhere close to being ban-worthy.

But rather than snark about how posters here have hate-crushes on you, I wish you would reflect on the feedback you're getting (e.g., that your tone around here needs work) and improve your e-presence.

I wouldn't give so much snark if the way other posters treated me wasn't obvious and consistent. My shtick might get old but quite frankly it doesn't matter how much I follow the "rules" around here and be on my best behavior. Im sure it's paranoia on my part at times, but it's for good reasons. Several posters have openly given the opportunity to address me in a fresh way and "give me a chance" to post in a more friendly manner. A few have been satisfied and no longer hound me as they used to. But for other the second there's a comment that is remotely mild in manner the wolves come out to play.

Then -- right in line -- freeman pounces. Sorry Freeman, but your moderating is bad. Eleven, D4rk and several other posters I thoroughly enjoy say things miles worse than anything I say when you decide to publicly call me out... And what they say is STILL fine and welcome on the boards, in my opinion. There's even a name for it in one case (Angry Eleven).

The difference is you think I'm young and can still be molded to fit your preferences while they've been around here a while and simply aren't going to change.

They don't have to. And neither do I (in cases like this, I say much worse which is ACTUALLY uncalled for and childish). Saying "Sure. What's your point?" does not need to be moderated.

You need to chill, dude.

Awesome. Just what we need. Another thread about Hoss taking a disagreement as a personal attack.

Oh Christ, just when I thought that last post was long, you went and did this.

We got a 5th from Dallas for Cassel and a 7th
