Iron Crotch Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 I haven't seen him play, but the guys at NHL radio (Sirius/XM) have been raving about defenseman Ivan Provorov as being the best Russian defense prospect in years. Kid is flying up draft boards supposedly. I'm interested to see this kid play. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 I hope Murray sees how good some of these american kids can be and picks up a couple more. Tuck, Larkin, Compher, Fasching all playing solid games. Hanafin looks good to my eye. Skates really well and has an excellent sense of where and what is going on. Eichel, looks good but a couple of times I thought he held the pick to long and tried to do to much. Really like is skating and hockey iq Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) I'm just really surprised Hanifin isn't getting top PP minutes. Has anyone read anything as to why? I'd imagine the coach wants him eating the toughest minutes, but it does strike me as odd that a stud Dman wouldn't be getting power play time. Edited December 29, 2014 by TrueBluePhD Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) He got a stint in the first that was the first Ive seen in seven periods. He's not as good at the point as deAngelo from what I've seen, but beyond that I'm not sure what the reasoning is. US has three 17-year-old defencemen, and Werenski is getting some PP time. I don't think Hanifan looks anywhere near as developed as Ekblad did last year. And Fasching and Larkin never stopped pushing. Fun to watch. Edited December 29, 2014 by dudacek Quote
darksabre Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Alex Tuch might be the best player on this team. The US has a lot of talent but is kinda one dimensional. Quote
wjag Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Slovaks not going away against US. Nil-Nil at the halfway point Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) US needs to shorten its bench, IMO. Don't think the way it has been mixing up 13 forwards is good for chemistry. Edited December 29, 2014 by dudacek Quote
darksabre Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Us needs to shorten its bench, IMO. I agree. I watch these tournies for goalies. I love a good underdog goalie performance. Quote
wjag Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Finally... There it is.. US has been pouring it on all period. Quote
Hoss Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 What a play to end the Danes - Czechs game. Pastrnak with a beauty. Rumor has it he's heading up to the Big Club (Boston) following the WJC. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Not sure shortening the bench is a good idea with the quick turnaround from yesterdays game. Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Not sure shortening the bench is a good idea with the quick turnaround from yesterdays game. Good point, but I doubt many US forwards played even 15 minutes yesterday. At least bench the 13th guy and stick with the other combos. Quote

wjag Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 question.. In that college hockey commercial aired during the WJC, when they show the brief glimpse of the team in orange, is that RIT? Quote
darksabre Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 question.. In that college hockey commercial aired during the WJC, when they show the brief glimpse of the team in orange, is that RIT? I believe it is. I'll have to watch it closer next time but I think we're the only team in D1 that wears orange. Goalie blew that. He overshot his lateral movement and never got set again. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Whoa ! Faschings skate caught that dude right in the face Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) You guys liking Fasching as much as I am? Not often you see a guy his size use it that well. Adding Milanos hands to Larkin's speed and Fasching's size has created a new top line. Now they need some grit and speed with Eichel and Tuch. Edited December 29, 2014 by dudacek Quote
bunomatic Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Guy on TSN showing highlights called Fasching a Kings prospect. Idiot Quote

Nothing about his game I don't like at this juncture. I'm even more impressed with his interview skills. GO SABRES!!! Quote
