Byebye Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Unfortunately this means Canada with win the tourney easily. I really didn't see the US making the finals regardless, I think this hurts Canada more then it helps. Quote
Derrico Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 That's not good to hear ubkev but thanks for the response. Quote
dudacek Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) Eichel started well and has a world of talent, but he looked young as the competition got stronger. Compher works his ass off. His NHL floor is Torrey Mitchell. Hopefully, he has more skill than that, but I really didn't see it. Fasching definitely looks like a middle-six NHL power forward. One of USA's three top players this tourney. Count me among those who didn't like the way US was coached. But they were a young team, especially on defence. Edited January 2, 2015 by dudacek Quote
K-9 Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Yep. Eichel is gonna fall off a cliff in the upcoming draft. Why, we might even be able to trade down and STILL get him. Tough game for the US. Hard to establish a rhythm, especially early on, when playing short handed so much of the time. I thought we dominated play 5 on 5 but just couldn't capitalize. Oh well, hoping Samson continues to show he's the best player out there in this tourney. GO SABRES!!! Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Well, guess it's time to cheer for Reinhart to win gold. Yes, I mean Reinhart, not Canada ;) Quote
wjag Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Unfortunately this means Canada with win the tourney easily. Canada still has Sweden to deal with Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Follow-up point: When are the US selection committees going to learn not to leave the goal scorers at home? The Olympic team and now the junior team both left offense at home, and what do ya know, they got eliminated because they couldn't score enough. Quote
pastajoe Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 I really didn't see the US making the finals regardless, I think this hurts Canada more then it helps. The US was the only team that could play the physical game vs Canada. Toronto is the loser because now there won't be Americans spending money there to see the team. Quote

If the US was the only team that couple play the physical game vs Canada, why couldn't we play it against Russia? Quote
Iron Crotch Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 I didn't watch the game, but 8 penalties? Quote
Byebye Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 If the US was the only team that couple play the physical game vs Canada, why couldn't we play it against Russia? Instead of playing the body it looked like they were trying to use their sticks. Had they brought the same game they did vs Canada it would have been a different story I didn't watch the game, but 8 penalties? Yup, 5 in the first frame, including a 5 on 3. On which Russia scored Quote
Dannepanne Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Victor Olofsson with a secondary PP assist on Swedens 2-1 goal against the finns. SWE leads 3-2. Quote

inkman Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 You mean it wasn't obvious? I'm slippin'. GO SABRES!!! Maybe it was just me Quote
Byebye Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 Maybe it was just me Edmonton wins the draft lottery and picks McDavid, then with Pittsburgh pick selects Eichel and we all switch over to oilerspace.com Quote
3putt Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Reinhart with another goal. 4,5 for 9 in the tourney. Quote
Derrico Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 He also has an unbievable tick tack toe that Duclair couldn't finish. He has played great. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Reinhart and Domi have been probably Canadas top players, probably throw in Lazar too. Would love to see Domi here, he could play on a line with Lemieux, if only Ray had a kid their age with Hockey skill..... Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) I was out at Jack Astors yesterday and saw on tv Hudson Fasching receiving an award after the game, anyone know what that was for? Edited January 3, 2015 by bob_sauve28 Quote
Derrico Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I was out at Jack Astors yesterday and saw on tv Hudson Fasching receiving an award after the game, anyone know what that was for? I think it was top 3 American in the tournament. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Safe to say that Reinhardt is out performing the two guys that will go 1-2 in this years draft?? I think it was top 3 American in the tournament. That sounds like a good thing! Quote
TrueBlueGED Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Safe to say that Reinhardt is out performing the two guys that will go 1-2 in this years draft?? Yes. And that's basically to be expected. The post draft year guys almost always do better at the World Juniors than the draft year guys, even if we're talking about generational talents. Not sure after last game, but before that McDavid was pacing what Crosby and Lemieux did in their draft years. Quote
Hoss Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Safe to say that Reinhardt is out performing the two guys that will go 1-2 in this years draft?? Ok. It's gone on long enough. There is no d in ReinHART's name. Quote
