LabattBlue Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 @BuffNewsVogl: Mikhail Grigorenko is being recalled by the Sabres, according to @kevinoDandC. Wonder why? Is Darcy back and they want to jerk him around some more? Quote
Hoss Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Â Wonder why? Is Darcy back and they want to jerk him around some more? Â Mitchell's injury must be bad. Quote
LabattBlue Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Mitchell's injury must be bad. Then why not Schaller or Varone or even Adam? Grigs needs to stay in Rochester! Quote
darksabre Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Â Then why not Schaller or Varone or even Adam? Grigs needs to stay in Rochester! Â Suggesting Luke Adam over Grigorenko is ludicrous. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Great. What if he comes up and sticks? Then what? What if he can score in the NHL now? Â I hate this move. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Interesting... very interesting. Quote
LabattBlue Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Suggesting Luke Adam over Grigorenko is ludicrous. Why? Grigs spending the entire year in Rochester give or take a few games in April is a good thing. Also, Luke Adam would be good for the tank. ;) Quote

Johnny DangerFace Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Yea baby, ship out stewart before the December freeze to bring up a healthy armia for RW. Quote
darksabre Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Yea baby, ship out stewart before the December freeze to bring up a healthy armia for RW. Â Amerks fans would riot  Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Amerks fans would riot  Â I hate to say it, and disagree with me if I'm wrong (likely), but management has treated rochester more and more like a developmental team, instead of trying to build a winner in Rochester. The coach is a joke and we skate way to many people not even ahl-quality. They would indeed riot, but it wouldn't surprise me lol Quote
Hoss Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 I actually don't think this is a bad move for tank reasons -- I think it's a bad move for Grigorenko's development. He needed stability for this season. If he's up keep him up. Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 With players like grigs and company having to pass through waivers next year (essentially being nhl bound), it is smart to get them NHL games throughout this season. I don't think stability is a big thing in this situation. Bid difference between getting no nhl time and then being shipped off to the q, and being switched between the ahl and nhl. Quote

mjd1001 Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 I don't know....I don't think I like this, as others have said, bring up someone that is a bit older....not because it would be better for the Sabres now, but to keep Grigorenko in Rochester. Â Is he playing so well that he is forcing the move? Â The more and more I think about it, I like the Detroit way of handling prospects. Give them a couple YEARS of developement in the NHL. Maybe some higher picks don't need that much time, but it doesn't looke like it hurts them. Is there any player in the NHL that has spent a few years in the minors where everyone said "they was WAY too much time in the AHL?" Quote
Johnny DangerFace Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Also in all likelihood, even though I hope its not the case, they probably just wanted a true center called up in case mitchell can't go tomorrow. It might be a one day thing Quote
Taro T Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Interesting indeed. Â So what wingers are they going to give him? He SHOULD be centering a 2nd line; not sure that they've got a 2nd line. Quote

He SHOULD be centering a 2nd line; not sure that they've got a 2nd line. Â Well we have the ennis - girgensons - moulson line. I guess just give him mitchell's spot and let him center flynn and gionta who have been playing good lately? I'd prefer a gionta - grigs - stafford line and then let foligno center delauriers and flynn. Edited December 16, 2014 by Johnny DangerFace Quote

I dunno, but Grigo was drafted in 2012, and next season is the 2015 season, so I think i'm cool with him being full time by then provided he has earned it. And I will be worried if he hasn't by then. Â Not sure how to feel about this call up. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Interesting. If he gets 8 minutes on the 4th line I'll snap. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Well if I was bringing up Grigorenko... I would give him Gionta and Stafford. Surround him with veterans to clean up any errors in his game and capitalize on his talents. Quote
