darksabre Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 It pains me to do it but I had to put a vote against RJ. This poll is about players and he absolutely transcends the players. He's my favorite all time media personality. But without players names to call he doesn't have a job. Quote
Weave Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 No more May? Rayzor, I love ya. But you can't hang with this crowd. Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 Sorry, RJ, but as the last remaining non-player you are out (for me, anyway). Also out ... Jay Mc and Rayzor. Love Rob, but we are getting to the nuts and bolts of this thing. Quote

Drunkard Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 RJ and Rob Ray leading in votes is a damn travesty. I'm ready to delete my vote and vote for everyone but them out of protest. Since I'm a white guy this board won't send a cop in to choke me to death for breaking the rules, right? Quote
SwampD Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 It's been easy to choose for me up to, and including, now. I'm still voting off people that I just didn't get to see play. Not having a TV from the late 80s to the late 90s means that the last three from that era get voted off. Quote

I haven't been following the politics thread, so I'm not sure where Freeman stands on this. Have to say I'm surprised by the Jeanneret vote. Edited December 4, 2014 by dudacek Quote

chileanseabass Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I only caught the tail end of his career, but how does Playfair have fewer votes than Ray? Quote
dudacek Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) I only caught the tail end of his career, but how does Playfair have fewer votes than Ray? For starters he was a much better fighter. Edited December 4, 2014 by dudacek Quote
Weave Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 (edited) For starters he was a much better fighter. And could play a regular shift. Playfair was the bonafide heavyweight champ for a bit. Ray never held that status. Edited December 4, 2014 by weave Quote
dudacek Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 I love watching how this changes. Andreychuk and Playfair instantly go from barely any vote to likely eliminations. Quote
Samson's Flow Posted December 4, 2014 Report Posted December 4, 2014 I love watching how this changes. Andreychuk and Playfair instantly go from barely any vote to likely eliminations. They were never going to make it to the end, but they were clearly better than the first eliminations. Picking only three makes it so my 4th and 5th place finishers get no votes until they are 1 and 2. It is funny though. Quote
dudacek Posted December 5, 2014 Author Report Posted December 5, 2014 Out: Andreychuk, Ray, Playfair. Down to the Sweet 16 Maximum three votes please. Quote
Samson's Flow Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 The choices are getting tougher and tougher. I voted my votes just because they were too early for my generation and aren't part of as many highlight videos that I have seen. I fear my favorites (the Peca/Hasek/Pat LaLa) won't make it too much further. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 Do we know if there are any entrants who have received 0 votes so far? Quote
Samson's Flow Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 ubkev - Gil Perreault vote? really? Is this some sort of bizarro strategy? Quote
ubkev Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 ubkev - Gil Perreault vote? really? Is this some sort of bizarro strategy? Never saw him play. I have zero emotional interest in the French Connection. He was voted for a couple time in the last round too. And not by me. Quote

And not by me. same here Ubkev. i have very little emotional entanglement with the 70s players. Gilbert stayed off my vote so far only becuse he was the face of the franchise for nearly 2 decades. IKnowPhysics Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 The experience of being a Sabres fan wouldn't be the same without RJ. He's been with the team since '71. He's traveled with the team just about that entire time. I recognize athletic ability, but Rick's a Hall of Famer with god-given talent and a franchise-defining career for a very good reason. To me, he's a Sabre. And to me, I favor him at least as much as anyone with their name in the rafters. When I think about watching or listening to a Sabres game, I can't not think about RJ's voice, and that's something I can't say about any other anything. Quote
