How much longer do we need to hide every thought inside Spoiler tags? You'd think a sane person who wanted to go in fresh would have the sense to not read this thread.

Until everyone is strong enough with the force to smurf out what everyone already thought it be? Oops. I smurfed when I should have forced! Stoopid me! I'll hold my thoughts until we are full go.

We are Sabres fans. So....

Kind of unexpectedly saw it tonight.  My son stopped by and kind of spur of the moment I suggested we go.  So I watched it with my two sons.  Enjoyed it.  Not too many surprises for me, but a lot of good action.  I wanted to avoid spoilers so I haven't read this thread at all.  One thing about the movie though...

Carrie Fisher sounds like a cross between Betty White and Hillary Clinton.

Yeah, it was pretty much a remake of Episode IV.  I was thinking that as I walked out of the theater and unprompted, my son said the same thing.

Lol on Fisher!

What do you get a Wookie for Christmas?

I believe you mean Life Day, sir.

And I guess the answer is LSD trip porn machines for grandpa, Jefferson Starship music videos for mom, and .... computer hacking equipment for Lumpy.

God that was bad. The animation in the middle that was all Heavy Metal-esque that introduced Boba Fett (seriously, that was the first time he was ever mentioned!) was pretty neat. He was riding dinosaurs on some jelly planet.

Son of a b!tch. get me a drink.

Great, now I want to see the holiday special mashed up with Don Felder.

Saw the movie today.  All I want to say is, thank you, thank you, thank you to any and all that had a role in getting actors that could actually act, and creating a script that wasn't tearfully bad.

Renewed my interest in this franchise.

I saw it last night with the family.  I can't say that I thought it was a great movie, and I did think it was a bit corny and predictable in parts, but it was pretty good and thoroughly enjoyable.  It moved along smartly, it was witty and well-acted and it looked amazing.

I did think it recycled a number of plot points from the first trilogy -- the x-wing fighters attacking a heavily armed and defended death star, the father-son conflict, etc.  Also, Leia just seemed like a grumpy old woman, and a lot of Han's dialogue was pretty cornball stuff (although it might've gotten a little dusty in there when he and Chewie made their reappearance in the Falcon).

Also, I will go on record as predicting there is NFW that Han Solo is gone.

As much as I'd want Solo to be alive, I just don't see how it's possible. Had a Saber rammed through him and he fell who knows how far. Solo will be in Episode VIII. The cast has already been announced. I see him being used in flashbacks.

Don't know how it's possible? Easy. Just hire some Walking Dead writers.

The scenes were visually incredible.  Tie fighters coming in backdropped by a setting sun.  Had a very Apocalypse Now look to it.  And the dogfighting scenes,  Wow.

Visually amazing indeed. Abrams is very good at that, did the same stuff in Star Trek

Solid 8.5-9/10 IMO, going to review this thread tomorrow at work

So, I've been on the rag(figuratively, of course) all week and I'm curious to know weather or not my enjoyment of Star Wars suffered from it. I'm in a much better mood now and am going to hit up a matinee showing tomorrow. The boy wasn't nuts about it either, but he agreed to go with me again and give it another shot.
