Buffalo won the first match up in California 2-1 back on October 25th. Buffalo goes for their 2nd straight after coming off a 6-2 thrashing of the Leafs on home ice while San Jose shoots for 2 wins in a row after beating Carolina 2-0 on Sunday. Neuvirth gets the start in net. Game Preview: http://www.nhl.com/g...mpid=sb-preview Edited November 18, 2014 by WildCard Quote
Weave Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Cody McCormick just looks so damned cold and determined when he fights. Awesome. Quote
Doohicksie Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 So fans from the northern suburbs get to go to the game but Southern Tier folk have to watch it from home, eh? Quote
Taro T Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Game on tonight per John Vogl So, how far into the game do we get before somebody complains about the poor attendance? Also, do any Sabres besides Kaleta live in South Towns? Curious if any players / coaches don't make it to the rink tonight or if the few that would have trouble were smart enough to stay in a hotel room last night. Quote

I expect attendance to be up for this game actually. This is a classic "Buffalonians Turn Out in a Blizzard Because They Can" game. Quote

Not an active player, but Andrew Peters got stuck on Route 5 near the Ford Plant driving in for Hockey Hotline. Sabres offering ticket exchange for a future game for anyone who cannot make it to tonights game. I expect attendance to be up for this game actually. Taro T Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 I expect attendance to be up for this game actually. This is a classic "Buffalonians Turn Out in a Blizzard Because They Can" game. We're talking about a weeknight game played by (at present) the worst team in the NHL against a non-traditional rival w/ 4' of snow already down and another couple of feet coming down. The game won't be over until 10:00 PM so anybody driving more than 5 miles south or east won't be home until well after midnight (again, on a weeknight). I'm expecting maybe 50% filled stands tops and would not be surprised if there are only a couple thousand there tonight. Plus even those coming from the Tonawandas might think twice because a shift in the storm of less than 10 miles strands them as well as those coming from the South Towns. Sorry, just can't see the draw. Quote

It's actually a good situation if you aren't in the affected area. Quote

(No data on how many previously sold there.) Edited November 18, 2014 by Taro T Quote
pastajoe Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 @kevinoDandC: I'm assuming they want their tank back from the #Sabres. RT @pham1717 The National Guard is being deployed to WNY. Quote
Doohicksie Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Sorry, just can't see the draw. Of course you can't. A Japanese dude can't be expected to get what it's like to be a Buffalonian. ;) Quote

Doohicksie Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Tell him to get a snowmobile. I know, right? That's how my dad got home after the Blizzard of '77. I'm sure if he put his location up on twitter, he'd have a dozen snowmobiles available to him in 5 minutes. Edited November 18, 2014 by Neuvirths Glove Quote
G-Daddy Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) TPegs can afford to send one for him and it would make a great blue and gold episode. RJ could narrate! Sitting here in Memphis watching the coverage on weather channel...absolutely amazing, especially the time lapse video showing the squall line streaming across lake Erie. Be safe Western New Yorkers!! Edited November 18, 2014 by DGW54321 Quote
I am Defecting Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) The FNC was spared for tonight's game. One thing about a wall of lake-effect snow, is that it makes great cover, for a barge full of pirates, making their way up the river, towards the arena, sabres drawn. Anyone for sharkfin soup? I just take the fins, and throw the carcasses overboard. Arrrgh. Edited November 19, 2014 by Yuri Olesha Quote
