Brawndo Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Final game of the California trip. The Sharks enter the todays game with 4-3-1 Record good enough for fourth place in division. They enter todays game with three consecutive losses, most recently to Columbus 5-4, a game which they had the early lead. Will the Sabres finally score a goal? Drunkard Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 World's least fun drinking game: a shot every time the Sabres score. They should try that at AA meetings in WNY. It would probably lead to higher sobriety rates than that whole higher power stuff. Quote
LabattBlue Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) I think this is the game where goaltending falls apart. San Jose while their W-L record is pedestrian early in the season, is an offensive juggernaut. San Jose 8 Buffalo 1. Edited October 25, 2014 by LabattBlue Quote
darksabre Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 26 Matt Moulson – 65 Brian Flynn – 80 Chris Stewart 82 Marcus Foligno – 19 Cody Hodgson – 21 Drew Stafford 17 Torrey Mitchell – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 12 Brian Gionta 44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 23 Sam Reinhart – 8 Cody McCormick 4 Josh Gorges – 57 Tyler Myers 6 Mike Weber – 41 Andrej Meszaros 61 Andre Benoit – 55 Rasmus Ristolainen 1 Jhonas Enroth 34 Michal Neuvirth Reinhart should be playing on the top f*cking line. They couldn't possibly do any worse than a top line with Brian Flynn. What a joke. Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Over under on # of Sabres goals scored 1.5... I am taking the under. Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 You heard it here first, Sabres finally get a win tonight. Have you given any thought to reevaluating this after listing Flynn as the top center? :P Quote
darksabre Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Have you given any thought to reevaluating this after listing Flynn as the top center? :P I expect Zemgus to be double shifted and for those lines to be thrown out the window as soon as the puck drops. Quote

darksabre Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 What about Ennis? He had a maintenance day. These are just the lines from practice. I should have noted that. Quote

Just sit him for another game if you're not going to give him real experience, Ted. Quote

And yeah, Samson on the fourth line is a joke, at best he doesn't get injured, at worst someone busts his knee in a completely meaningless game. Edited October 25, 2014 by Kristian Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Samson on the 4th line, eh? How could they possibly be doing the same ####show BS as they did with Grigorenko. Some things never change. It's comforting in a way. It's easy to see with that lineup why we may actually go wire-to-wire leading the CHL. Quote

Give the kid a chance to get near the net. Nolan's strategy for developing Reinhart (or, more accurately, his lack of a strategy) is embarrassing. I'm not counting on McDavid or Eichel ever playing for us, which means Reinhart could be the key player for our future. And we're completely wasting the 9 'freebie' games we get with him this year. Is it too much to ask that we put the most important player in the organization in a position to succeed? Quote

Ruff at least put Grigorenko on the power play during his 5 game tryout time (which we blew through and ultimately burned that year of eligibility anyway). Quote
sicknfla Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 This is the part that pisses me off. You go all last year sucking ass to get in position to draft Reinhart. The kid has 9 games and you bury him on the 4th line. If he is that bad just send him back now. Different GM, different coach - same ludicrous decisions. When the f will they learn?? Quote
inkman Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 The worst thing is that it doesn't have to be this way. But for some reason it is. The Sabres brass has seen how Grigorenko has come around so they are following that blueprint. Bring him to the bigs, destroy his confidence by playing him 5 minutes a night with slugs, send back to Jrs. bring him up to the A next season. Voilà a prospect he has become. Seriously, GMTM should have taken Ted aside and told him "these first 9 games are Sam Reinhart's games. Play him top line minutes prepping him to carry the load when he is ready. This still trying to piece together a line up to win (which is a joke) ain't working. Quote
