Taro T Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 The Rocket Richart? So it looks like we have 2 more awards nailed down. The Buddy -aka the anti-Hart (anti-heart?) and The Rocket Richart - fewest goals for a top (2?) line forward.
Hoss Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I think CHL entry should only be reviewed after the first 10 games are complete. These award names are fantastic. We should keep them all listed in the OP then vote at the end of the season.
WildCard Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) We need playoff awards too; handed out after the trade deadline? Edited October 16, 2014 by WildCard
Taro T Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) I think CHL entry should only be reviewed after the first 10 games are complete. These award names are fantastic. We should keep them all listed in the OP then vote at the end of the season. Definitely don't want to revise too early, it'll make a mockery, a mockery I tell ya ;), if teams are bouncing in and out of the CHL like Ross and Rachel were bouncing in and out of each others arms. (Horrible analogy, but one gets the point.) From a logistics point, I'd prefer not to add all the trophies to the OP because I update that then quote and edit that for the daily updates and deleting out 10-15 additional lines every day will get tedious. FYI - the individual awards named to date are: Jack Hoff - coach most likely to get the least from the most; The Buddy - least valuable contributing player (aka the one that contributed the most to the least); Rocket Richart - fewest goals for a top (2 or just 1st ?) line player; and Sulky - defensive forward most likely to get an assist on a goal scored against. Recently named: The Golden Sieve - worst goalie; Fart Ross - least points for a top (2 or just 1st?) liner; and The Quinny - worst executive. Ones we have yet to name: Least valuable rookie in an important every day role; Worst save %age; Worst GAA; Worst D-man; Worst +/-; Worst sportsmanship - would need to define the crieria for it; The go-away player of the year - who fell off the face of the earth worst who had been good only a season or 2 before; Goon award - the guy least likely to have a night w/ Lady Byng and most likely to take a soul crushing penalty at the most opportune time; A Drew Stafford-ish leadership award; and An anti-Masterton award. I'm probably missing a few and we may want to go out of the box for a few more: Maybe add a Leino - worst off-season acquisition? Edited October 20, 2014 by Taro T
LastPommerFan Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Maybe add a Leino - worst off-season acquisition? Highest $/goal? He set the bar by dividing by zero and opening a dark portal into the Fashion Realm Edited October 16, 2014 by Glass Case Of Emotion
LGR4GM Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I'll give it a try: Ones we have yet to name: Least valuable rookie in an important every day role; The Joe Schmoorton Worst goalie; The Marc Andre Flounder Worst GAA; The Lady Ga Ga Worst save %age; The Vezinooope Worst D-man; Old Chuck Norris Worst +/-; Oops I did it again Least points for a top (2 or just 1st?) liner; The Legend of Kassian
MattPie Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 I can't wait for Trending Buffalo to rip this entire scheme off for their own self promotion. And that 716 store to start making t-shirts.
cgang Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 You could call one of the awards the "Lululemon" award and then have the yoga store announce the award recipient on its "Wide Right No Goal" mosaic at the Galleria.
qwksndmonster Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Least points for a first liner? Fart Ross. Shart sauce?
3putt Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 The Lady Gaga should go to the player who adds absolutely nothing to his team, the sport or humanity in a colorful and flamboyant manner.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Dude, Taro, a Friends analogy? For shame.
Taro T Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 Dude, Taro, a Friends analogy? For shame. I know, ####ing horrible, ain't it. :bag:
darksabre Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 The Lady Gaga should go to the player who adds absolutely nothing to his team, the sport or humanity in a colorful and flamboyant manner. I like Lady Gaga.... :(
Hoss Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Two contenders in OT right now. Rangers and Canes.
inkman Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Two contenders in OT right now. Rangers and Canes. It's a win-win-lose-win
Taro T Posted October 17, 2014 Author Report Posted October 17, 2014 Current standings through games played 10/16. Team ----- GP - L - W - OT - PTS Edmonton 4 3 0 1 7 Buffalo 4 3 1 0 6 Carolina 4 2 0 2 6 Florida 3 2 0 1 5 Calgary 5 2 3 0 4 Winnipeg 3 2 1 0 4 Arizona 3 0 2 1 1 NY I 4 0 4 0 0
Crusader1969 Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Huge game for the Sabres tonight with a win it will set them up nicely for a run vs Boston, Anahiem, LA and SJ. A victory tonight should see them to a nice record of 8 - 1 and a spot in #1st place.

The Putrescine game of the week... vs.
Hank Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Hopefully the team can get back on track tonight. That slip up against Carolina hurt, hopefully Nolan can fix that.
TrueBlueGED Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 I like Lady Gaga.... :( This is the sort of thing that gets Internet Kings sent to the Internet guillotine. At least Taro never said he *liked* Friends.
Derrico Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Nice, they're keeping up Boychuk too. He's impressed me in the two games I've seen him.
dudacek Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Exactly the type of offence we needed tonight for this big four-pointer.
LastPommerFan Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I see no reason to track these standings any further. There is no possible way we don't get McDavid or Eichel.
