Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Updated through last night. Great now I've got to navigate to the OP. ;) Not telling you how to run your thread, but could you please put the latest standings, whenever you do the updating, in a new post. Really enjoying this thread.
Crusader1969 Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 Only one Staal is out and it's not the better one. Skinner is ouet. Khodobin is good but Ward is terrible. ill have to assume you didnt watch last nights Car v NYO game? both Staals are out
Hoss Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 ill have to assume you didnt watch last nights Car v NYO game? both Staals are out Was flipping through all the games. Didn't see that. Doesn't sound serious.
IKnowPhysics Posted October 12, 2014 Report Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I was thinking how to do something like this, and it's being done perfectly. Should we sticky this? Edited October 12, 2014 by IKnowPhysics
Taro T Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 Only 2 NHL games today. 1 includes a CHL charter member, the other includes an applicant for CHL inclusion. So though it is a light day, there are still many stink eyes watching tonight's action. There's always something going on in the CHL.

Taro T Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Loafs emphatically saying they aren't ready for the (dis)honor of joining the CHL. Chased King Henrik in the 2nd. Application denied (for now) but it will be kept on file.

Hoss Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Just three teams left in the league with no points (legitimately no points).
Taro T Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Where are the charts? Talk to Carp. That's his department. ;)
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 It's the 13th. Where is the up to date standings in the CHL? A quick Google (not always your friend) reveals nothing on this up-start league. A few seasons ago d4rk said that we would know what kind of team we had by Thanksgiving. The same is true this season. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Taro T Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Current standings through games played 10/12. Team ----- GP - L - W - OT - PTS Buffalo 2 2 0 0 4 Carolina 2 2 0 0 4 Calgary 3 2 1 0 4 Winnipeg 3 2 1 0 4 Edmonton 2 1 0 1 3 Florida 2 1 0 1 3 Arizona 2 0 1 1 1 NY I 2 0 2 0 0 Quite a log jam at the top. Filly and Avs making strong cases for inclusion, but they have to prove they want it.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Thanks Taro. My bold prediction for Tuesday. The first 0 - 0 tie in recent NHL history. Neither team scores after regulation ... OT ... every player on both teams fail to score in the shoot-out ... the coaches thumb wrestle to a draw. The NHL has no choice, but to declare a 0 - 0 tie as the final score.
shrader Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Quite a log jam at the top. Filly and Avs making strong cases for inclusion, but they have to prove they want it. The Avs, now there's an interesting one. Just hand them the entire NHL if they pull of a tank.
Taro T Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 The Avs, now there's an interesting one. Just hand them the entire NHL if they pull of a tank. And give Statsny the MVP if his departure was that traumatic.
Crusader1969 Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Just three teams left in the league with no points (legitimately no points). or do you mean perfect records? I'm looking for a big win today by the Sabres.
That Aud Smell Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Frickin Islanders SUCK.** **CHL standards applied. Are the Avs excelling** so far? Surprising.
LastPommerFan Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Carolina being the only real potential intentional tank in the Metro Division should help the Isles in this year's CHL standings. They have a lot of games scheduled against teams actually trying to avoid the draft lottery.

I think we should just drop the point system we're using and order them backwards based on the points they have in the NHL. This is too confusing. Calgary has two points and shouldn't be tied for last.

This is too confusing. Calgary has two points and shouldn't be tied for last. It's the same exact logic as the regular points system the league uses. You may be ahead in the standings since you've played a few extra games, but those games-in-hand are probably going to catch up to you at some point.
dudacek Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Don't change, this is perfect. Every point you give away brings you closer to the prize.

I am looking at points not taken because at the end of the day, the team that left the most on the table wins in this league. If Buffalo and Carolina manage to lose their games in hand Calgary will fall behind and will no longer be tied for the lead. ;)
Taro T Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 Seeing if maybe prematurely updating the standings in the OP can light a fire under a squad wearing blue Superman capes. Blue, really, blue?!? Is it any surprise that a designer that comes up w/ unis this bad doesn't realize that the spandex is supposed to be blue and the cape and underwear outside the spandex are supposed to be the other color?!?
