Guest Sloth Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 2 goals down w/ 10 to play.... Ya never know.
Eleven Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 This up is down, down is up stuff is incredibly hard to follow!
Brawndo Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 I think the Oilers walked by these in Carolina and were inspired. https://twitter.com/NHLCanes/status/574619249857134593

Brawndo Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 We've had an M41 Walker Bulldog sitting across the street from the arena for years. They need to move it to the atrium of the FNC until April 12th for motivation
smj Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I still don't know why we are debating the tank. It is too late now. I believe a conscious, planned tank is much, much better than a slow, unconscious slide to the bottom. The slow slide is truly hard to come out of because the front office is in denial and doesn't understand what needs to be done. Regier is the one who "tanked" this team by mismanaging it for years. We MUST let Murray complete the job and get McEichel. Is it guaranteed to work? Of course not. But the odds of a rise to the top are much better with McEichel than without. If Darcy were still here we'd be foolishly trying to come in 25th and lying to ourselves that we just had an off year with a lot of injuries. As an aside, we may have to lose every game here on out. Tell me Edmonton isn't tanking - they are up 3-0 and then give up 7 goals in half a game? Yikes!

smj Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 If we tie Edmonton or Arizona in points what are the tiebreakers?
SabresFuture Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 If we tie Edmonton or Arizona in points what are the tiebreakers? The first tiebreaker is ROW, second is head-to-head. Makes the games against Arizona in late March even more significant.
WildCard Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 The Yotes host Nashville tonight in what may be a perfect CHL storm. Nashville's won 6 straight, and Arizona has been playing decent lately. Edmonton meanwhile heads to Detroit, both teams coming off Sunday wins away from home.
beerme1 Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 The Yotes host Nashville tonight in what may be a perfect CHL storm. Nashville's won 6 straight, Nashville has not wo...uh nevermind
Eleven Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 , Detroit just scored again. Or Edmonton scored, or whatever happens in this weirdness. IRL, it's Detroit 2, Edmonton 1.
bunomatic Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 ######, Detroit just scored again. Or Edmonton scored, or whatever happens in this weirdness. IRL, it's Detroit 2, Edmonton 1. So its actually Edmonton 2 Detroit 1 ? No ? Oh never mind.
Randall Flagg Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Arizona ties the game against Nashville on the power play with 12 minutes left in the third. 1-1 (Regular, not CHL language)
GrassValleyGreg Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Aroooooo (coyote). Desert Dogs lose a point they have no right losing.
Randall Flagg Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 The shift that lead to the Nashville goal was some of the most pathetic hockey i've seen in my life, and I'm struggling to remember a time this year when the sabres looked that bad. Drawing a blank. We lose (CHL win) in Toronto Wednesday, and it's 7 points behind the Yotes with 15 games left. Edmonton continuing to scare me (a win puts us 2 behind them) but their schedule gets a lot easier after their next game.
pi2000 Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 15 games left after tomorrow, let's look at the next 5 for the top 3. ARI: CHI, NJD, @LAK, COL, PIT 4 home games, could pickup NHL points against NJD and COL. EDM: @PIT, @CBJ, TOR, CBJ, PHI Could pickup NHL points vs TOR, CBJ and PHI. BUF: @TOR, NYR, WSH, @BOS, NJD Possible NHL points vs TOR and NJD. Might not gain any ground on ARI, however EDM has some softies on home ice. .

CBJ and CAR are 20 points out. Is it safe to remove them? CAR plays 9 of their next 11 on home ice, two of those 11 vs CBJ. CBJ with only 3 of their next 10 at home, I expect them to blow by CAR in the standings here over the next 2-3 weeks. What a great season, things still tight at the top heading into the final stretch... great for the league and the fans. Bad for my hairline. Chance of Buffalo finishing in 30th is now 81% as per http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHLlottery.html.... ARI with only a 5% chance.
CallawaySabres Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Toronto is a giant hurdle tomorrow night. I will feel much better once that one is over....

We could, but a few people here liked the idea of following a Septic Six down the back stretch, so we ran w/ it. The bottom 3 are only on pace for 91-93 points, so they'd have to have an extraordinary run of the runs to challenge and should realistically be all but eliminated by weeks end though they won't be gone mathematically for another week or so after that.
